1. After 5 years, do you believe this team is any closer to beating Alabama and winning an SEC championship - which were the goals you set when you took this job?

that a easy answer no, not with this defense
Sometimes, people in position of power become delusional. They sincerely think that they are the best man for the job. It is important for media members to expose such delusion.

college coaches live in a cocoon when it comes to the media they deal with. they are not ever challenged. when they are, you get what you got yesterday.

Since you've said time and again you earn everything, please tell us how your declining record over the last three years as the football coach has earned you another year at Arkansas.

if they want to report on Arkansas football they have to be carefully what they ask.

Replace Alabama with Kentucky and a similar question should've been asked of Mike Anderson well before now.

I've said it before. The local media is afraid of the UofA.

I understand, in some ways, that they have to tread lightly.  If, for some inexplicable reason, Bret is still here next year it makes it really hard for that media member to do his job if he has been critical of the coach.  They won't get exclusive interviews and not even a quote unless someone else is asking the questions.

Having said that, this dude is done.  In the post game presser a couple of reporters actually questioned him and he handled it like a pouty teenager.  He also worked to create a divide between him and the fan base with all of that "outside world" garbage.

Anderson hasn't come close to winning the SEC.  Six years in and his team still was getting blown out by the contenders.

There's been a lot of talk on here that the athletic program should move to an easier conference because of the football struggles.  If that were to happen football would look like the basketball program now.  A weak coach in a conference of weak coaches would mean the football program would simply appear to suck less.  Just like MA basketball in the SEC.

Coach, you came here with a great resume, 3 Rose Bowls, good winning percentage, a history of putting players in the NFL, the list goes on. In short, you had tremendous success at Wisconsin.

My question is what do you think has caused things to go wrong for you at Arkansas? Is it an external issue, meaning something you can't control (better competition, difficulty in recruiting, et cetera) or is it an internal issue (lack of quality assistants, administration, et cetera)?

Follow up; if the problem is external did you realize it before you came or was it a surprise and if you realized before you were hired did you think that, given your success at Wisconsin, you had the ability to overcome the external shortcomings of Arkansas?

coach at the end of your post game press conferences, your signature goodbye has been "woo pig". You did not say that after the CC game. Is there any reason why?

I like this one. Also, need to ask that since you always say things can be corrected by watching film, do you not watch film?

Also, what about the gross mismanagement of playing Hammonds.

What do you call finishing 2nd and 3rd in the SEC?

Yes.  Ask him where Hammonds has been?

Coach, after several losses you have offered up these quotes, "Nothing that's not correctable on film" and "We are close." Coach are you seeing the same mistakes being made by the same player(s) time and again and if you are, why aren't those players getting better or being benched?

Follow ups; coach in the case of Hammonds is that why he hasn't been seeing the ball? Was the move to receiver something he requested or was it something the coaching staff saw on film? Would you say that the WR experiment is over for him?

What do you call blowouts 67-84 and 63-78,  5 games out of first with what was by far the easiest schedule among conference teams ?

What do you call blowouts 72-81 at home and 65-78 at Florida, and 71-97 at Kentucky and 65-82 in the tourney, 4 games out of first with what was again one of the easiest schedules in the conference ?

For a first or maybe a second year coach understandable perhaps.  For a fourth year coach ... a sixth year coach ?  In the SEC ?  The track record of a loser in a conference of losers.
