Has to be Iman Marshall or Porter Gustin.  Leaning towards the former.

Means we got an official visit instead of LSU.  I think our staff may have pitched him that with Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver II projected to be LSU Tiger defensive backs, playing time would be more available at Arkansas than at LSU.

"Arkansas will be getting a visit from an elite defensive player this weekend... keep an eye out on signing day. #5star" - @SEC_Chad

"You aren't good enough to beat them out, so come play for us"

Works every time on a 5 star.

Iman Marshall has been added to the Hogs' 'Top Target' list on 247. He's the only one on the list that is not currently committed to the Razorbacks.

I get what you're saying, but if you're a blue chip running back, would you rather go sit behind 6 blue chips at Bama or step into a somewhat equal program with little to no competition at your position?

Recruits absolutely look at depth charts when choosing schools. They're not always egomaniacal airheads. It doesn't take a genius to realize that less competition at your position = higher probability of early playing time.

Kid has offers from pretty much every major school in the country.

If it's indeed him how realistic are our chances?

Beleima was recently in Long Beach where Marshall is from.

EDIT: Someone just beat me to the connection.  ;D

If he's taking a visit this late in the game, they've got to be pretty good.

I'd say minimal, but HV will have a silent commit before he visits.

Looks like he is most likely USC bound but you never know.  To get a visit from the number 1 corner this late in the recruiting year is impressive.

He has been on the top target list this whole year, with a cool interest in us.

Love those Hogs

If he's visiting, then there is a chance.  May not be a big chance, but better than no chance.

Would be huge to get this kid, huge!

Not holding my breath, but not fully exhaling either.

Guess we'll see but I love it that we might get a visit.

We're never an odds on favorite for an elite out-of-state recruit.

We weren't with Merrick.
We weren't with Froholdt.
We weren't with Kirkland.
etc.

Ahh..gotcha..thought it was recently added.

I thought it was interesting that Chad threw "keep an eye out on signing day". Seems to suggest we're a serious player.

So, if you look on his interest list, it says he is being recruited by Joel Thomas and Taver Johnson. Someone at 247 is a little behind.

Add Wallace to your list.

Can you imagine pulling the #1 recruit in the state of California?

Wow

Still- probably a very long shot

People on here and other Boards "dog" Coach Thomas on his recruiting, but he was the contact on Marshall, and has been in constant contact....

I hear you, but more often than not a kid that has dominated the competition his whole life, and been told nothing but how great he is doesn't think like that.

It may work for some, but there's a reason most of the 5-star kids usually end up playing for the usual suspects (Bama, OSU, USC, etc.) and it isn't because they're afraid of the depth chart.

Kirkland. Ragnow, and Collins. Pretty much any out to state prospect.

Although hogville had a good feeling about Collins

He'll have some serious thinking to do if he enjoys his visit.  :razorback:

The_Iceman

This would be an amazing get for Arkansas. Still got to beat out all the other teams to get him tho, but with a visit, at least you know you have a shot.

All Bleed Red

It's huge to get visits from these guys this late, whole nother story to land them.  LOVE IT!!

At the least, I hope, there will  be a Hog Cap on the table at his LOI signing!!!   WPS!!

TX HOG

booogaga

Apparently this was supposed to be kept silent and has been exposed. Whoever it is. Might affect the visit happening.
GO HOGS!

scruf

Kids get five officials so if a kid visits you then you are definitely in his top ten, probably in his top five, and possibly his number one.

bjeffersonhog

Kids don't come visit Arkansas from California unless there is high interest.  He could visit anywhere in the country with his 5th visit but he chose Arkansas in the middle of winter.   That alone should be reason to think we might have a legit shot at landing him if he enjoys the visit

Just get him here. It may be a fit. There's enough interest at this time in the process. "GO HOGS"

Nothing to add to the thread, just wondering who the hot momma in Zane's avator is?

+1 lol, this is the one post a year where I'm not speculating. It will be a good surprise.

I'm secretly hoping for a five star wr, for vindictive reasons, but would love a speed back, safety or lb.

Razorpigg

My guess is PG. IM would just come out of nowhere.

Daylon Mack out of Texas? Set to visit bum-ass Texas this weekend. Would be a nice Philon replacement.

Chad is an ESPN guy, so the player would be a 5* using ESPN rankings.

Uncommitted:
DT Daylon Mack
CB Iman Marshall
DE CeCe Jefferson
DE Byron Cowart
DT Terry Beckner Jr.

PorkRinds

I'm saying Marshall or Gustin or Byron Cowart (surely not).
