Quote from: hogsanity on Today at 09:59:07 amTo me nil and transferring at will are very separate things.
I agree with this. The timing is what it is but if we could have gotten these things separately I think it would have been easier for everybody. Two huge changes 1 year apart really shook up the snow globe. We are likely more than 5 years away from figuring out how the snow will settle.

And there is no guarantee we don't get another big change before its all said and done.

Quote from: Suidae Suis Scrofa on Today at 09:58:33 amIf he does that, then I hope he's ready to retire.  After the story he's been telling about wanting to come back to Arkansas for redemption and all that I think he'd be radioactive if he were to be seen as having a hand in causing the season to implode.

Gosh do you think....a narcissistic sociopath would just do that? Just...lie to people for money?

Quote from: Razrpig256 on Today at 10:04:09 amTo your point, I think it's almost time that we have to start finding new ways to generate runs. I think we may need to be a little more aggressive on the bases with more hit and run, bunt and run, and even a few straight steals in the right situations. The HR threat from this offense isn't enough to avoid the risk of running into outs like past seasons, and we rarely come up with big innings, so there isn't much chance that we run ourselves out of one. I'm not necessarily advocating for a bunch of small ball, but something to generate some momentum and put pressure on the defense to make plays. We feast when opponents help us out.

DVH has done a great job of evolving with the modern game, but I think at his core he would prefer to play the way you stated.  With us not striking out much this would be the team to try more hit and runs with.  I wonder if he is saving if for the post season?

Quote from: Razorbackers on Today at 10:06:35 amSo in 15 years, he had 7 players from Kentucky. I mean if that's true that seems low.

He always had an end of bench guy or two, but actual players that played it's just those 3.

The other names were guys in 25/26 from Arkansas that are good players that we'd normally be thrilled with, but might pass on if we hit home runs.

Quote from: rmcchris on Today at 09:21:30 amMemphis. Fed x ponied up. Maybe the NCAA will allow players to be sponsored by corporations or even individuals. Put their logo in the uniforms. Tyson. Fed-X. Jerry Jones. Don't steal my idea NCAA.
"Charles, sponsored by Quick Crete concrete throws up a brick from 30 feet, but it is rebounded by Jones, sponsored by Billy's Bail Bonds, passed over to Smith, sponsored by the Greasy Skillet Cafe, who promptly throws it out of bounds on the First National Bank courtside. Possession to Slippery Rock, according to the Fred's Used Cars scoreboard. Speaking of Fred's, remember our deals are the best around. Bring your wife and title and we'll dicker."

I can see it now... 8) College basketball in the near future...

Quote from: thebignasty on Today at 09:53:16 amI'm not sure its a hot take.  Every move since Bobby was at Louisville the first time has ended in major drama.

It's apparently a super hot take on hogville lol

Quote from: donnie on Today at 09:43:05 amSheppard, Derek Willis, and Darius Miller were the only major contributors from Kentucky over his entire tenure.

Burgess, Andrews, Christopher, Lanier may be good enough if you strike out on the top top of the class.

So in 15 years, he had 7 players from Kentucky. I mean if that's true that seems low.

The Florida team in 2017 is the roadmap for us.  Once they got into the tournament they didn't give up runs. Regional 10-6,  5-1 (12), 2-6, 6-1 Won the Supers 2-1 (11), 6-8 (11), 3-0.  CWS 3-0, 5-1, 2-9, 3-0, 4-3, 6-1.

But as you can see they had no margin for error and won a lot of close and extra inning games.  They faced elimination in every round until the finals.  I expect our post season will look like this with a lot of very stressful games.  Might want to stock up on Pepto now.
