There will be a minimum of 9 mid-term enrollees and a maximum of 11.  If Fisher picks the Hogs today who are the possible other 2?

Oh okay didn't know Williams was enrolling in January.

To have early enrollees, you have to have vacancies.

If I had to guess, I would say Melvin Johnson the DL from Riverside, CA C.C.

Early enrollment is great for JC players but I hate it for HS players.  Kids should enjoy their SR year.  Play basketball, baseball, go to prom, chase girls, enjoy life.  No way one semester is going to make any players career.

They wouldn't do it if they didn't disagree with you. It's almost a year of work In the program that they would miss otherwise. Ask Agim if it helped him...

A lot of them make it back to prom and things like that.

To add a "sig line" or "signature line": Go to your "profile" then go to "modify profile" then scroll down to where it says "Signature" and type in what you want it to say and then click on "change profile". That's it, you're done. Your sig line will only show up on your first post on each page.

You almost make it seem as if these kids are being forced into making that decision.

I disagree about the HS players. I believe they need any edge they can get in this league. Bowl practice and spring  practice will put them ahead of any that choose to wait for the prom. With the extra months to cuddle with the play book and conditioning, they'll hit fall practice in full stride.

PorkRinds

It's a valuable leg up, especially for players that don't want to or need to redshirt.  It gives them almost a year to get conditioning and playbook down.  It's significant and to many, their focus isn't social activities. They want to get their careers started.

ArkansasI

No brainer...  made easier because there are several guys coming in.  It would be more difficult for just one or two early enrollees to adjust.

These guys will bond and have fun.

onebadrubi

Also it lets them start classes which means they have a semester advantage on graduation. These kids can no space out more classes over 3-4 years and have less harder ones in a single semester.

Plus, its invaluable to have a full semester to adjust to being a college student before the college football season.

Dormies always wanted more or were ashamed of the walk of shame, Sorority girls didn't care.

In that situation isn't everyone trying to please the other person.  If not, it would seem kinda pointless.

Do you want to dick around in high school or start getting ready for the SEC? Seems like a no-brainer to me. They can chase girls up on the Hill and go back to prom. That one semester might not make or break them, but it will assuredly make them a better football player and ease their transition into the student-athlete life of a major college football player. They've spent 3.5 years in high school, giving up the last half of their senior year (when they can still go back for all the big events like prom, graduation, etc.) isn't going to mean they didn't enjoy their high school experience. Greater calling.

deedster84

There's been cases of Coach B letting early enrollees miss practice to go back and go to their graduation and prom.

I hated prom in high school and haven't cared for it as a parent. Never liked any of my 3 graduations. I wanted to get thru school and play football. There were way more girls to chase in college and it was much more fun. High school was pretty much a necessary evil to get to college.

I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. high school was not even a life experience compared with my years at UofA on the hill.    Looking back, if I could have skipped my entire last year of high school to get on to the hill, I would have done it..............    Maybe not all colleges are the same experience I had at the UofA, but it honestly was some of the best, if not the best, years of my life.........
