Quote from: Hogkiller on Today at 02:38:35 pmBorzillo just reported Noah Waterman 6'10" BYU Senior has entered the Portal.  Graduate.  10 pts 6 boards and 37% from 3 with 6 takes a game.

JB Carol what's your take.

Quote from: island hog on Today at 03:45:57 pmInteresting but only half of the story... what about returning defensive production numbers? TFLs, Passes defended, etc.,...would be cool to see that and then combine with the offense to get a better picture.  With the transfer portal, I'm not sure it really matters anyhow.
I believe that's total team production

Quote from: psycHOGlogist on Today at 03:47:01 pmVBMark means that the non-HC spouse reports to the AD, not the HC. That "solves" the issue of one spouse reporting to the other.

It doesn't address any issues that arise from having a spouse on staff (like folks feeling they can't complain to the HC about the spouse who isn't the HC, or the perception that the non-HC spouse speaks for the HC).

Well that makes a lot of sense. I misunderstood what he was trying to say. Thanks for setting me straight.

Quote from: 31to6 on Today at 01:47:18 pmI like Kevin's info, but I can't sit through an hour at a time. Would love it if he chopped it up into more bite-sized clips.

Maybe five minute clips :hmmm:

Lisa Bluder retires at Iowa! That's pretty big news.

Kinda crappy that she did it after the transfer portal closed.

Incredibly sad.  I am definitely a "Take me Lord, don't take my kid" type of mom.   My heart hurts for these people.

Quote from: ucahogfan on Today at 03:38:38 pmOU is interesting, but don't think they are really in contention to be a top 8 seed.

While they are running away with the Big 12 at 21-6, their weekends have gone as follows:

Week 1 - 2-1 at Shriner's in Arlington (including a win over Tennessee)
Week 2 - Sweep over Wright State
Week 3 - 0-2 at the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic (losses to Pittsburgh and Ohio State)
Week 4 - Sweep over UCF (more of a 3 seed / bubble team)
Week 5 - Sweep over TCU (more of a 3 seed / bubble team)
Week 6 - Lost series to West Virginia (looking to be a 2 seed)
Week 7 - Swept at home by Lamar (should be a 3/4 seed if Southland AQ)
Week 8 - Lost series to Oklahoma State (looking to be a 2 seed and get into hosting discussion)
Week 9 - Sweep over Kansas State (maybe a 2, probably a 3 seed)
Week 10 - Sweep over BYU (Not going to make the postseason)
Week 11 - Lost series to Texas (going to be a 2 seed)
Week 12 - Sweep over Texas Tech (not going to make the postseason unless they do damage in Arlington)
Week 13 - Sweep over Baylor

Where is the marquee series win they can hang their hat on to be a Top 8 seed?  Have they beaten anyone you are certain will be in the field at this point in a weekend series?  They have swept series they were supposed to win which is holding up their Big 12 record.

I agree.

Included them in the list more to show how "weak" the contenders are in comparison to our resume.

Florida's RPI is solid for their record including their #1 SOS.  This would help UGa's case with a series win/sweep this weekend if they could do it.

Quote from: Atlhogfan1 on Today at 03:04:39 pmMaybe.  With all of the ACC contenders except UNC for a top 8 seed losing their series including being swept or losing series to bad teams plus ECU getting swept, we would be very secure right now.  It would take multiple teams rebounding and winning series this next weekend to put us in any danger if we had lost yesterday and 3 at A&M.

Maybe the committee will pay attention to the SECT.  I doubt it.
If we lost Sunday and 3 at a&m that would put us 2-7 to finish the SEC season.  And the conventional wisdom would be that we finally got to the meat of the schedule and folded.

But again, I don't think you can overstate how big that win was yesterday.

Quote from: freedomcounty on Today at 02:30:07 pmThere are still tons of open spots out there too. Most of the kids in the portal will be on scholarship somewhere next year

Google it and you will find research shows 42% don't find a new school.
