Have to wonder if Lunardi is aware of what's going on with Beard, Williams, and Kapita.

-Blu

I'll take that 12 seed.

Beard making it back on the team IMO is the difference from us being on the bubble possibly making the tournament or being a NIT team.  There's nobody on the team that can replace his leadership ability and toughness, and that winning mentality.

Williams, I'm not sure if he's a guy that's a 3-4 game difference maker, I thought he would have a solid senior season, but between Miles, Thompson, and hopefully Jenkins, we would be able to replace his production.

And I thought even if Kapita made it to campus to start the season he wasn't going to have a huge role, I thought he would be like a 10 MPG, and brought along slowly to fully recover from the injury. Kouassi should be a solid role player off the bench, capable of getting us those rebounds and hustle plays that Kapita would have brought.  If Thompson has progressed like we've hoped then he can provide the scoring Kapita would have given.

The season ended 14 hours ago, but let's look at Joe Lunardi's first Bracketology for 2015-16. http://es.pn/1cMxrwN

Having us anywhere in the bracket is either a sign of laziness or respect for CMA by Lunardi.

Kinda funny that Lunardi expected Portis and Qualls to return. Wonder why.

Speaking of Thompson, has anybody seen any pick up games in Hyper or practice/non-practices that can give us any insight on how Trey may have progressed...

Also, I'm going to disagree on some of your points... Durham will be the play maker on this team and the leader... we are going to win a lot more games than people think... We'll win at least 22 games this year... We have enough players with time on campus and when give the opportunity they'll show why they' are on a D1 scholarship... we'll finish no lower than 5th in the SEC... it could be a bubble team, but imo, Lunardi is right on target.

You're gonna look like one of the smartest posters on hogville if this comes true because nobody is gonna believe it. Hope you're right!

Whoever made this bracket clearly doesn't read Hogville, our experts have already marked us down as being horrible and lucky to go .500.

-Blu, do you want to bet on that prediction?

I'm not a betting man.  And if I was I still wouldn't bet on anything, because I've yet to see a practice, scrimmage, or ever see these guys shoot around.  There's a lot of unknowns, we got some guys that could have taken a big jump this off-season, I don't know. What I do know is a lot of hogville "experts" here have been claiming how horrible we're going to be, some even saying we won't score 70 PPG, which is a joke.  I just find it funny that these experts seem to know so much, yet the lowest prediction I've seen someone in the national media give us was an NIT appearance, so like I said, they must not be reading Hogville.

FYI, Lunardi was just on the SEC Network discussing the NCAAT outlook for the SEC. He had the Hogs as a bubble team. Last week, we were not mentioned on his bracketology, but with the addition of Beard he thinks we have a shot.

A couple months ago when he released his early pre-season bracketology he had the Hogs as a 12 seed in the play-in game against Oregon State.

WAY too early.

On signing day do you say it is "WAY too early" to know if any of the signees will be any good and isn't worth talking about?  Or in the Moses thread about how he's played one game?  Just enjoy it.  You could do that in any thread.  Nothing wrong with seeing how others see us stacking up.

How others see us after one game against Southern is irrelevant to me...but you have fun.

There's quite a few posters we wouldn't hear from for a long time if we snuck into the NCAA's with this team.

How is Stanford below Arkansas? They beat our boys head to head so that should determine the the breaker. I think those nerds in Palo Alto probaby should be ahead of Arkansas. Maybe LiNardi is getting lazy

I just did and Stanford is one game over .500 just like Arkansas. However, they beat Arkansas on a neutral court. That should break the tie breaker.

Oregon State at 14-8 shouldn't be below Arkansas either. They have a college basketball superstar in Gary Peyton Jr. I think Lunardi is penaltizing their basketball program over one dummie tripping the referee in a PAC 12 game.

Common with ESPN is they put much emotion with their picks. Joe Lunardi is no different in that aspect.  :puke:

Seems like you are mad that we are getting respect. Weird coming from a fan of the team.

They consider more than one head to head game.

To accomplish this it would take an unbelievable run going forward (thru the SEC championship).....such as 1 or 2 losses and my gut tells me that this won't happen.  But, who knows.  I certainly didn't expect to beat aTm, TT and Florida in the impressive way we did it last nite.  Stumbling blocks might be Ole Miss, LSU and SC.  However it turns out I continue to have a good feeling about this team's efforts.
