The main things that stick out to me: New QB, Fast Wideouts, A defensive front that dropped 56 spots from 2014 to 2015 in sack rate.

At the end of the summary, Connelly has them at an 11% chance to beat Arkansas and expects the team to "take its lumps against Arkansas..."

La Tech, similar to us, is losing a good portion of their offensive stat leaders.

They graduated their transfer quarterback (Jeff Driskel: 4033 passing yards, 27 TDs/8INTs), and top rusher (Kenneth Dixon: 197 rushes for 1070 yards and 19 TDs).

On defense they lose 8 of their top 10 tacklers.

They have a strong corps of receivers led by Trent Taylor (1282 receiving yards and 9 TDs).   Although Taylor is of small stature (5'8") we better not overlook him.  Very shifty and elusive receiver.

Here is their football message board:

Although they will be missing a lot of players from last season  - here is some film to watch:

They run a hurry-up and spread offense.  Our defense will get an early test.

Tech is a tough ball club.  We shouldn't look past any team, especially after last season.

If you didn't know, LA Tech is the first game of next season.

Uncommon

No Driskel, no Dixon, and their really good D Lineman is gone.  Tech will have a hard time replacing that for the first game of the season and beating us.

Yes and I am so glad Dixon is gone cause I was afraid he would run like a mad man on us.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

He would've had a hard time considering we return an experienced DL plus we held Derrick Henry and Leonard Fournette to under 100 yards in a game this season.  I wouldn't have been worried.

Yeah, not so much the run game I'm worried about.

The rest of Arkansas will get a look at Jaquise Dancey, former team mate of Jamario Bell, the Junction City RB that led J.C. to several recent state championships. Dixon led Strong to one title, but Dancey led J.C. to three in the same, very competitive conference.
Dancey is Dixon on roller skates and as a freshman at Tech, he was averaging 25 yards per return on special teams, and you can bet he carries the rock in 16'. Don't under estimate this guy!

Last I checked, the line has to block for the back.  Our superior run defense, of which 90% returns, that held 1st round talents of Leonard Fournette and Derrick Henry to under 100 yards will be going up against a Louisiana Tech caliber offensive line and running game.  Dancy may be a fine back but he won't have the running room he had at JC.

After ULM, Rutgers, and Toledo....no game is a gimme game for Arkansas. They better come to play.

Where are you getting that stat?

According to cfbstats.com  Jaqwis Dancy only averaged 17.41 yard per kick return and had zero punt returns:

http://www.cfbstats.com/2015/team/366/puntreturn/index.html

He also rushed the ball twice for a total of 2 yards but caught 1 pass for a total of 30 yards:

Not to take away from Mr. Dancy.  I remember his highlight film and he was quicker than a hiccup but there is quite a bit of difference between averaging 25 and 17.41 yards per kickoff return.  Eric Hawkins and Dominique Reed only averaged 22 yards per kickoff return for us.

I was quoting the #'s mid season when he was averaging 25 yards per return! Don't have a clue how he did running the ball @ Tech, but his high school #'s were skewed due to he rarely was allowed to play after half time. There was no need to!

Being from the 2-A, and a son playing in that conference, I enjoyed watching him develop from Jr. High, but
year after year, I hated seeing the upcoming schedule knowing he was coming. Watched him hurtle a DB one night and later saw the picture of the play, his ankles where shoulder high to our D backs. As I said, don't under estimate this kid.

Think again!!  Kenneth Dixon attains heights Derrick Henry and Leonard Fournette can only dream of!!

Kenneth Dixon is a true legend.  (In the minds of some on Hogville.)
