Yannetti drills one that the 2b makes a pretty great diving catch on, 2 down.
Russell pops out to 1b.

Bugarin goes down 0-2 but works a full count, then hits a fly ball to left field to end the inning.

3-hole hitter taps an excuse-me swing towards SS, Russell cuts it off and throws her out, 1 down.
4 hitter hits a blooper to shallow CF, Canfield gets a late read but rushes in to make a good sliding catch, 2 out.
5 hitter - pops out to deep SS.

Yannetti pops out to deep 2b, 1 out.
Russell hits a seeing-eye bouncer up the middle, single. 1 on, 1 out for Canfield.
Canfield hits a slow bouncer, fielded by pitcher, who barely gets her at 1b, Russell to 2b.
Hiers up with 2 out, runner on 2b.
Hiers hits a Texas Leaguer into shallow center, scoring Russell from 2b, 4-1  :razorback: s.
Schroder knocks one through left side, runners at 1-2, 2 out for Cooper.
Cooper pops out to 3b.

Storms gets the first hitter to pop out to Hiers.

8 hitter gets a hit on a communication breakdown between Yannetti and Schroeder. Yannetti probably could have caught the bloop to very shallow RF, but it looked like Yannetti called her off, and the ball dropped. First runner to reach after 12 in a row for Storms.
Storms gets the 9 hitter to hit a harmless grounder to 3b, Russell throws her out.

Due up for the Hogs: Diaz, Belans, and Bugarin.

Diaz continues her hot hitting, drills a single up the middle. Beringhele in to run for Diaz.
Belans flies out to CF, one down.
Bugarin goes down 0-2 again, fights off a couple, and then grounds into an FC at short, they get Beringhele (barely) at 2b. 2 down for Yannetti, Bugarin at 1b.
Yannetti dinks one into shallow RF, Bugarin legs it to 3b, and Yannetti advances to 2b on the throw to 3b.
Russell grounds a slow one to 2b, and she dives head-first into 1b safe!!! Bugarin scores from 3rd, 5-1  :razorback: s
Great hustle from Russell!!! Yanetti to 3b, so runners on corners, 2 outs for Canfield.
Russell steals 2b.

Leadoff hitter slaps one to 3b, but Russell makes a great play and throw to catch the speedy runner (who tried her own head-first slide, but ... *sad trombone* ... she's out by a good bit).

2-hole hitter hits a little liner just over Belans' glove for a single.
3-hole hitter gets thrown a chair, K, only Storms's 2nd of the day.
Clean-up hitter grounds an easy one to Russell, who makes the play.

Due up for the Hogs - Schroeder, Cooper, Diaz.

Two runs for the Hogs will end the game.

Schroeder gets one on her own - HR to straight away CF. Twelfth of the year. For the record, in softball - 10 HR a year is considered excellent. She has 12, and we're in early March. Wow.

5 - Hedgcock has a little trouble with the zone, but gets her to fly out to CF on 3-1 pitch.
6 - Flies out to LF on 1st pitch, 2 down.
7 - Hits a sharp grounder to 3b, easy play for Russell.

I'm curious to see how they perform against conference opponents.  I know there's some of the best teams in the nation in the SEC. I just hope they stay competitive. Unbelievable job by coach CD.
