School Record Sagarin Rating

UK 7-0 28
FL 7-0 10
UT 5-1 14
USC 5-1 58
OM 5-1 25
VU 4-1 31
AL 4-2 66
MS 4-2 99
LSU 4-2 98
AU 4-3 90
UGA 3-2 189
AR 2-4 196

Arkansas is dead last and it isn't even close.  All SEC teams are at least above 100 while only Georgia and the Hogs sit near 200.  Arkansas is the only team with a losing record right now.  It certainly appears that 0-16 is possible, though not probable. I knew things were bad, but this is ridiculous.  Are we headed in the right direction or the wrong direction?

EDIT - Well crap, I left out Georgia.

Razorod

Georgia is missing and I think they're pretty low as well, but your point is well taken.
Hoping the Hogs basketball fortunes change for the better this season.

Here are some historical ratings of Arkansas over the years:

2008-2009 116 Pel's 2nd year
2007-2008 33 Pel's 1st year
2006-2007 42 Heath's 5th year
2005-2006 22 Heath's 4th year
2004-2005 55 Heath's 3rd year
2003-2004 99 Heath's 2nd year
2002-2003 129 Heath's 1st year
2001-2002 57 Nolan's last year
2000-2001 33 Nolan
1999-2000 49 Nolan
1998-1999 31 Nolan

Heath did take us the right direction, but just didn't get us as far as we wanted to go (and that is an NCAAT win).  Pel started very well and gave us that much needed win in the NCAAT, but will miss the tourney two years in a row now, unless the lights suddenly come on with this team.

Very revealing stats Tomhog. I can understand why we're down. We have piss poor coaching. The rest of the SEC, aside from Kentucky and Tennessee, is pretty weak.

Has anyone noticed Florida has been in a decline since Donovan did his Orlando flip-flop? He's going down the Nolan road.  Wins the national championship and suddenly gets complacent. The Gators aren't even ranked anymore.

The rest of the SEC schools have their own sets of problems.
Bama and Georgia are in a transition with coaches, Ole Miss and Vandy are plugging along. Vandy is still Vandy. Miss. State has a long time coach in Stansbury, yet they can't even beat Rider.

All in all, Arkansas, Georgia, and Auburn are the only SEC schools headed in the wrong direction. Pel and Lebo are not showing improvement while Fox needs a little more time.

Donovan has won back to back national championships, so he doesn't have anything to worry about and Trent Johnson won the SEC in his first year with Brady's players. The verdict may still be out on him...LSU is not LSU this year.

1. Florida is ranked #13 and has arguably the best win of any team so far this year.

2. Vandy and Ole Miss look like tournament and borderline Top 25 teams right now, and I'm sure Miss State will turn it around like they always do.  8 teams have legitimate tournament hopes at this point, that's hardly indicative of a weak conference.

3. Trent Johnson made the Sweet 16 with his own players at both Nevada and Stanford.  This is a rebuilding year, and I'd be quite surprised if he didn't eventually get the job done at LSU.

4. I agree that those are the 3 SEC schools heading in the wrong direction.

Sad but factual.

Even at Nolans worst his polka dotted tie was a better coach than Pel.

We are right where we finished last year in the sec. and thats in dead last place. what this man has done to this program is a crying shame.yet he's being treated with kid gloves by the arkansas media and the Pel excuse makers. it makes me sick!i have taken the gloves off.
