You'd think 1 of the 88 coaches we pay could have figured that out.

We would've probably gone for a FG anyways, so it doesn't matter.

Official time is kept on the field, and may not have matched our ever-so-fantastic clock keeping.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

worse than that was  ruling their runner in bounds with 3 minutes left that killed us.....horrible call

We should lined up in the V for the last play. That woulda been JLS's biggest moment. It would've confused he stuff out of everybody.

While we're talking bad no calls. When their KR stepped out of bounds before catching the ball, an illegal touch penalty shouldve been called. Can't come fRom out of bounds and be the first to touch the ball. Wasnt mentioned or discussed.o

I'm more upset with the 4th down field goal and punt. That and I can't say that I have ever seen a false start penalty called after a play was over.

This. WTH? The ref signaled him out, then they run 30 seconds off?

Just went back and not only was there 1 second when the ball hit the ground, it had bounced out of end zone and a player had turned around.  I don't know why someone didn't ask for a review.

Only AT Arkansas would the visiting team get home cooking from the clock operator. Arkansas does not understand how to win all the way from the guy who cleans the locker room to the clock operator to the stadium music guy to the coaching staff.

Fox's officiating guru, Mike Periria, said there was one second left and that it was a play that could be challenged. Of course JLS would have never figured that out.

What a great way to end a great career! One for the ages, that JLS. I think it is fair to say he is the worst coach in the modern era of Razorback football.

SEC officials are bad officials and then to add insult to injury they are corrupt.

  I'm confused.

The game was on CBS, not Fox. We had NO timeouts, so we couldn't challenge anything. So why would Perrera be talking about our game anyway?

Fayettechill14

If we were playing Texas-Nebraska rules we would have had another play.

But of course, no one can expect equal treatment to Texas.

He's usually on the FOX post-game shows, so it was probably on either the postgame of the Utah-Colorado game on FX or the UW/WSU game on FOX.

They have to be corrupt because there is no way they can be this bad unless it's purposeful.  The officials that allowed aTm to win have not been seen since that game.

With what magical timeout would you geniuses use as the collateral to challenge the last play and its clock determination?

He didn't challenge anything else so why would he challenge that?

I've also never saw an offsides penalty called on the offense after the play had been run.

I guess that's a new rule. Lucky for LSU it negated the turnover.
Thanks coach.

We had a great time.

razorsharptusk

The game got screwed up when the coaches called a timeout after Tyler had changed the play at the line and the play clock was down to 2.  He was fixing to snap the ball if they would have just stayed out of it, and then maybe we would have had a timeout to play with there at the end.  Tyler was pretty ticked it appeared.

That's a great point.  However, the refs should have double checked it or gotten a call down from the booth to look at it.  You don't have to have a TO in college for the replay booth to make the call to look at the play.  But after that no whistle on the illegal procedure play where we ended up with the ball, you wouldn't expect a call to go our way.

Looked like the LSU left tackle did move before the snap

Arkansas was not charged a timeout there. They reset the play clock to 25 and we got a play off just fine. That situation had nothing to do with the outcome. We then had to use all 3 timeouts on LSU's last possession.

That's not the play he is talking about. He is talking about a different play. Tyler was in shotgun, he stepped up to the line to audible, the play clock was running down, and the coaches called timeout from the sidelines just before the ball was snapped. Tyler was extremely hot because he knew he was going to get the ball snapped. The play he is talking about was in the 1st half, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway in regards to second half timeouts. You bring up a good point about having all 3 timeouts on LSU's last possession. The play you are thinking of though was the 4th and 1 when Tyler was under center the entire time. You are correct in saying a timeout was not charged, they simply reset the play clock.

The false start call, when Ark forced a fumble, was the right call as well. It looked bad because the play was allowed to proceed and Ark got a turnover. It could have very well been that the official was trying to blow it dead and no one heard the whistle. It was pretty loud at that time.

The 1 second thing is what gets me. It happened with Texas Nebraska a couple years ago and it was reviewed. John L. wouldn't have needed a timeout, it should have been flagged for review by the assistant in the booth. It certainly was a reviewable play and should have been reviewed.

I thought the same thing at first, but I think he was talking about the play earlier in the game when they gave LSU a timeout instead of calling a false start. But I could be wrong.

It stops until the ball is marked ready for play. Once under 2 minutes, the clock stops until the ball is snapped for the next play.
