Foshodo

it wasnt really how many points we scored with Chaney that bothered me... it was about how hard it became to score when we needed to...

Those stats are extremely skewed.  CMU doesn't have any "cupcakes".  They are the cupcakes.  The only somewhat fair comparison would be counting only our conference games and removing all of his pay for play games.

I think the Hogs ppg will be a little higher that Petrino's with Enos.

Then if our defense plays like last year, you're predicting a playoff bid.

Which I'd be perfectly ok with! :razorback:

I think a strong defense with a balanced offense is the blue print.

When looking at only conference games, Arkansas averaged 20.6 points over 8 games and CMU averaged  28.9 over 8 as well.

PPG is the worst stat ever. there are lots of non-offensive ways to score.

Notice he says your boy instead of "our coach". Very telling.

I'm not worried. If he recruits like he did here Louisville will fire him in about 5 years.

There you go.

Raw points per game also doesn't consider the fact that our offense plays slower, shortening the game. So the games are lower-scoring.

If we score at Petrino 2010-2011 levels while dominating TOP, then you can go ahead and pencil us into the CFP Playoff ever year.

When did Chaney become a head coach? Not exactly an "apples to apples" comparison between 3 head coaches and a OC. But I see where you are trying to go.

Our stats against Nichols St. might skew things a tad.  ;)

Improvement in our red zone offense & field goal kicking would have & will make a big difference in our W-L record

This is an apples to oranges comparison.  Enos hasn't coached in the SEC yet, and the others have.  We will have to get a year with him on our sideline or find some other metrics by which to compare.

Pork Twain

Just a straight ppg comparison does not really work in football.  Have to look at ToP and the effectiveness of the defense as well, because at the end of the day they play into the overall effectiveness of the team.
