I could see the Jays looking for a good left handed pitcher to supplement the RH Roy Halladay up there in canada.  But they are also looking for a good OF prospect

But nobody likes the reds, i hope the cards get him since we didn't.
I hope the Cards get him as well.  They have a few minor league clubs fairly close (Springfield and Memphis).  Also, how cool would it be if he fell to the Royals next pick and ended up pitching in NWA again.  Or if he went to the Angels and ended up pitching NLR.

With Texas and St. Louis next, that would keep Nick regional.

Hogtropolis™

What happened to Billy Koch?

Hogtropolis™

With the 16th overall selection in the 2007 MLB Draft, the Toronto Blue Jays select Kevin Ahrens, a third baseman from Memorial HS in Houston, Texas.

The Rangers are now on the clock.

BigDave70

He's a kid thats 6-2 180 switch hitter, Compaired to Chipper Jones and has an above average arm and is said to be the best hitter out of Texass

rzkbackman, you're confident about Schmidt not falling out of the first round, arent u? lol, dont worry, he'll be a good pitcher wherever he goes

"I can't be cliché and say 'Call the Hogs,' but I think I have to.  That's just something that sets our university apart.  When you're out on the field and everyone in the stadium stands up, it's amazing.  Even when we're at a football or basketball game, just to see that many people around you doing the same thing for you when you're on the field or for the other guys who are playing, it's pretty awesome."

With the 15th overall selection in the 2007 MLB Draft, the Cincinnati Reds select Devin Mesoraco, a catcher from Punxsutawney HS in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

The Blue Jays are now on the clock.

You know they are gonna call this guy "Punxsutawney Phil"

rzrbckfan426

I just want him to go to a team that I like.  It sucks when you have a player that you liked in college go to a team that you hate.  When I was a kid I love Julio Franco (the really old guy) and when the braves picked him up I loved it.  But now he's on the mets which just chaps my ass.

Hogtropolis™

With the 17th overall pick in the 2007 MLB Draft, the Texas Rangers select Blake Beavan, a RHP from Irving HS in Irving, Texas.

My Cards are now on the clock!  Make it a good one Walt!

BigDave70

He's a kid that is 6-7 210, He has a fastball mid 90's, outstanding slider

I bet the Cards take Nick.  Hometown kid and the Cards like college players

TuckFexas

It would be too sweet. Springfield isn't that far from here for AA. And I love going to STL to watch games.

Porcello would be a great pick now or that Harvey kid.

Hogtropolis™

With the 18th overall selection in the 2007 MLB Draft, the St. Louis Cardinals select Pete Kozma, a SS from Owasso HS in Owasso, Oklahoma.  (Dang it, I wish they would have taken Schmidt.)

The Phillies are now on the clock.

demonHOG1013

Hey, Hogtropolis, what ever happened to Bo Hart??

BigDave70

He's a kid that is 6-1 180 , has great instincts and is consistant could be a lead off or 2 spot hitter, they said he's not above average at anything, they said this is a Conservative pick
"No coach has ever won a game by what he knows; it's what his players know that counts."  Paul "Bear" Bryant

Since 1894

The first thing I heard today was that he grew up on a pig farm. That's quite a start in my book. And my last memory was watching him hang 70 on Nebraska. Just those two facts are enough (for me to like him). Then, I hear that he's out of the Hayden Fry-Bill Snyder-Barry Alvarez coaching tree. Oh, that's enough for me to like a lot. Then, I hear he's got a 27-year-old wife. Okay, we can stop. I like him.

So how does a kid get drafted outta high school who is not above average in any one area?

Hey, Hogtropolis, what ever happened to Bo Hart??
I think he is in the minors somewhere still.  He was pretty much just a "shot in the pan" type of player that contributed and helped out tremendously one year, but that was about it.  I think he will end up being a career minor league player.  I did love him though.

Hogtropolis™

With the 19th overall pick in the 2007 MLB Draft, the Philadelphia Phillies select Joe Savery, a RHP/1B from Rice University.

The Dodgers are now on the clock.

bulldog04

I'm glad Nick didn't go the Phillies.  The Dodgers would be a great organization to be in.

It's starting to look like Schmidt might be a sandwich pick between the first and second rounds.

rzrbckfan426

The dodgers are def. on the incline.  The MLB rumor place has that being one of the places that Arod or Ichiro might end up by the end of the yr.

If NS falls to the second round does he stay? LOL I can hope can't I?
