Just think of the vacation you would enjoy. It would be worth your while. Plus the game would be great. A running attack vs a passing attack.

hawgsav1

Oregon State.  Just imagine the Beaver jokes with Nutt and Dick...

I'd like to see Texas,
USC just so we can beat them for once
any Pac-10 team so we can beat up on them every year
Florida State
Notre Dame
Wisconsin (just to beat them)
Michigan
Boise State
Indianapolis Colts :-P
Michigan State
Nebraska
Texas A&M

Tulsa (just once)

The thing about if you play Tulsa just once is if we beat them it is because Gus didn't have his team in place. If they beat us it's just a fluke. It is a no win situation.

Personally I'd like to see us play them and Arkansas State on a rotation schedule.
I'd also like to see us play Texas, Oklahoma, ND, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, or VaTech. Maybe we could through in Air Force or Army they do wonders for ND's strength of schedule.

And don't forget that if UA blew Tulsa out.  Gus Groupies would go nuttz on here complaining that running the score up on Tulsa was just another way to pick on Gus.

Well I think that Arkansas should never schedule 4 cupcakes.  We should be playing one Major (USC, Texas, Ohio State, etc...)and 3 cupcakes; or 2 Mid Majors (Louisville, Iowa State, OK State, etc...) and two cupcakes.

For those saying stuff like "Texas every year"  fine, but that means no ne else EVER, because they are not going to play 2 bigtme ooc games.
People ask me what I do in winter when there is no baseball.  I will tell you what I do. I stare out the window, and I wait for spring.

Please god never play USC again, it is obvious that USC's 2nd string would hang 50 on us.

Louisiana Tech

Arkansas State

Would like to play some of the lower echelon Big 12 teams in neighboring states

Missouri

Oklahoma State

Would like to play one upper echelon Big 12 team in a neighboring state

Texas

Texas A&M

I agree with that but it would be fine with me.  Other than Texas we could play more interesting cupcakes and midmajors:

Tulane, So. Miss. Memphis, Tulsa, UTEP, Rice, Houston, SMU,

SooiecidetillNuttgone

Texas every year.
Miami
FSU (These two could help with our Florida presence)

anyone on the top of the big east, ACC, and big 12 so we can show how overrated they are.

The Big 10 is more overrated as a conference than the Big 12.

You are absolutely correct, but somehow we have trouble beating them for some reason.  I'd like to see us pick some of them up in our non-conference schedule more often to get a bit more familiar with them.  Never meeting them except in a bowl game is not working for us.
Here's your reason...

I was trying to be nice.

Lets get Henderson State and SAU on the non conference schedule.

Every Other year play Texas.
Every Other year play Oklahoma.
Every Other year play Missouri.
Every Other year play Memphis.

Good for recruiting if you play good teams from surrounding States AND they would all make for good games.

Playing Troy or UL Monroe does absolutely nothing for us in terms of recruiting and visibility.

The question posed was who would you like to see us play.  I would like to play any of these teams.  Most of these teams would require us to do a home and home which I would be fine with.  Some of these teams would probably not play us home and home, and there are probably be some that we would not play.  I don't expect us to have 2 or three teams like these on our schedule, but it would be nice to have at least 1 like these and in some years two, since we have a 12 game schedule now.

Next year's schedule IMO is awful.  Hopefully we won't see another schedule this bad for a while.

Obviously we wouldn't beat all of those teams.  But it would be nice to play some teams that are from BCS conferences.  I know we have played USC and Texas in the last 4 years and it would be nice to keep teams of that caliber or close to that caliber on our schedule.

Texas (of course) - This way all new students can feel the energy some of us old heads remember
Oklahoma - Great way to keep a border battle, and great for our OK recruiting
Boise St. - To show the rest of the media how much an SEC team would destroy them
Memphis - To keep all the Memphis fans quiet about their basketball team
WV - Great running game matchup.  Slaton/White vs. McFadden/Jones
Florida State - Another great running game matchup
NC State - So they can see how dominating Herring's D has been since he left
Florida International - McFadden rushes for 300+ yards
Temple - McFadden rushes for 350+ yards, Jones has 200+
Duke - McFadden rushes for 375+ yards, Jones has 250+, both have 3+ rushing TD's and DMAC throws for 3
Louisville - ESPN would have an instant orgasm!
Rutgers - ESPN would be up Greg Schiano's a**
Virginia Tech - First game of the season... Hog fans would show great hospitality and would all wear VT ribbons and shirts while tailgating.  As Virginia Tech runs on the field, the noise and cheers for them equal that as if the Hogs just scored a TD.  At halftime the VT logo would be coordinated in the stands making it a great story and a great picture for all of College Football.

OK ST, T A&M for recruiting  ND, Miami, CAL for exposure

Makes for a hell of a highlight real on ESPN. Keith Jackson JR taking it to the house? Plus it gives us a chance to practice that "passing" game.

1. Missouri or Oklahoma State (but not both) - natural border rivalry would be nice
2. Texas or Texas A&M (but not both) - to rekindle memories of days gone by
3. Arkansas State or Central Arkansas (in 5 years) - because something in-state would be nice
4. Home-and-home with any Big Ten or Pac 10 school - for national recruiting boost

The problem Arkansas has is that we don't have a rivalry with another school where we are seen as the primary rival.  We have to find a way to get that.  And to be honest, Missouri is there for the taking, in my opinion.  Unless I'm wrong, Nebraska is their rival, but the 'Huskers have Oklahoma and Colorado.  Kansas & Kansas State have each other, too.  I'd like to see us bust our tails to create that ongoing rivalry, and I think it would be nothing but great for both universities.

GA Tech - The state of GA has become a hotbed for talent and is mainly SEC country.
FL St or Miami - Another FL opponent wouldn't hurt recruiting, expose that states talent to the Hogs.
Notre Dame - Would love to beat them and Cheeseburger Charlie.

1) Texas

Obviously I want to see Texas. That's coming up, though, so disregarding the Longhorns, here is my T5 in no particular order:

1. Oklahoma - great non-conference matchup between the power conferences
2. Notre Dame - would love to go to South Bend to watch a game, Arkansas and ND have never played
3. Oklahoma State - too many storylines to mention, plus did you see how many Pokes came for the regional?
4. Michigan - kind of the same with ND, would love see a game at the Big House
5. Nebraska - the only two schools in America with unrivaled fan support within their state boundaries

BYU, Texas, USC Trojans, and Hawaii. Especially Hawaii so I can see them hogs play in a stadium I don't have to spend my life savings to watch. Running faces throwing. It would be the game of the century. June Jones pro style offense against Houston Nutts Pro style offense (?). Hawaii won't have Colt Brennan and Arkansas wouldn't have DMac but I bet money on it if June Jones stays at Hawaii he will have another Hiesman trophy candidate at QB soon after. I bet he might have a running back coming here this year that could very well be one in a couple of years. It would still be an interesting game to watch at either stadium.

The first two would be instate charity work. Also I think Texas has benefited from the proliferation of D1 athletics throughout thier state. Also if they had that it might help get LSU up to RRS. They shouldnt get to play so close to home when they come here.
The rest are for recruiting reasons.
No cupcakes unless its for the good of the state.
We should play the BCS conf teams at all times. Its just not a hallmark of an elite program to have an OOC schedule of Troy and some other losers.
