Now that the NCAA has made Daniel House (remember him?) and Trocha eligible.

Agree.  They have talent.  If they can gel, they will be dangerous.  And, then next year, they add an excellent recruiting class.

Cheaters.

I've heard that they are some of the worst, especially in basketball. But in this day in the NCAA, where they don't go after anyone, why not cheat?

And even if they do, They seem to "bungle the investigation" so bad that nothing serious is, or can be done... I mean if North Carolina can get away with Bogus classes for 30 years... Hell TAMU could put them up at the Embassy Suites, with front row at a Gentlemen club and Rolex's for the lot if they wanted to and nothing will really happen!

They should be up by 20 over the Wildcats by now. Kentucky looks very poor, except for Booker.

If the ncaa is gonna hammer a team, a&m would be the kind to get it.

They won't touch the Kentuckys and north Carolina's of the basketball landscape.

A&M's bold attempt to finally turn a corner under fourth-year coach Billy Kennedy ran into a bunch of bricks on Saturday – both from the free throw line and the 3-point line.

The Aggies' hustle kept them in the game against top-ranked Kentucky, but their collective cold hands enabled the relieved Wildcats to avoid a for-the-ages toppling in Reed Arena.

"I'm crushed that we didn't win," an emotional Kennedy said following Kentucky's 70-64 edging of A&M in double overtime. "But I'm proud of the way we competed, and gave ourselves a chance to win."

Indeed the Aggies did, in their seventh all-time bid to upend a top-ranked team for the first time in the program's history...

QuoteA&M owned every chance to pull off the upset before a rowdy crowd of 10,411 and on national television, but the Aggies only made a little more than half of their free throws (16 of 30) and were 2-of-15 (13.3 percent) from the 3-point line.

"We've got to get back to the basics," said A&M guard Danuel House, who led all scorers with 25 points.

A&M (9-5, 0-2 SEC) gets the chance to try and do so in Reed again on Tuesday night against Mississippi State. Meanwhile Kentucky, with a sizable contingent of fans cheering it on in Reed, will press on its bid to finish the season undefeated, following oh-so-close victories over A&M and Mississippi.

"I don't want us to be great right now, anyway," Calipari said, shrugging. "We want to be great at the end of February and (in early) March."

He added of A&M competing without talented forward Jalen Jones (ankle) for a second consecutive game, "They didn't have their best player and they did that. I know how good a coach Billy (Kennedy) is."

That was of little solace to Kennedy and the Aggies, desperately trying to finally push into the NCAA postseason this year.

"There are no moral victories," said junior guard Alex Caruso, who grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. "It's either a win or a loss. But I hope people see that we're a good team."

A&M led 9-0 five minutes into the game, 28-25 at halftime and then traded punches with the Wildcats through much of the second half...

Dickey really recruited a good class at Houston.  Everybody got some of them including us (Harris)   House will really help the Aggies   I am surprised that any of them stayed.   Did any of you hear the brief comment from Dakich on how screwed up Indiana was when he took over from Sampson on an interim basis??

Texas A&M rising in improved SEC http://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/mizzou/texas-a-m-rising-in-much-improved-sec/article_d9ec256f-92cc-5e0e-aae3-2a21a90598be.html ...

QuoteIs the SEC improved? Clearly.

The next tier has more substance this year, led by Georgia, LSU (when the Tigers play motivated), Tennessee and Arkansas (if the Hogs can revive their defense). Ole Miss is still potent offensively. Alabama has already eclipsed last year's win total. Nobody looks forward to facing South Carolina's defense.

Which leads us to Wednesday's Big 12 reunion in College Station, Texas, between another improved team, Texas A&M (11–5, 2–2) and the one team that's fallen off considerably from last year, Kim Anderson's Missouri Tigers (7–10, 1–3). Mizzou is a couple of botched late possessions from being 3–1 in league play, but as Anderson has noted repeatedly during the Tigers' three-game losing streak, this team's margin for error is miniscule.

A&M's 11–5 record can be misleading. Billy Kennedy added two impact 6–7 transfers in Jalen Jones and Danuel House, but they've played together in just 11 games. Jones, the team's leading scorer, missed A&M's games against Alabama and Kentucky with an ankle injury. The Aggies lost both games. A&M is 11–0 when the SMU transfer scores in double digits.

"It just gives us another upperclassmen scorer, a guy who's played Division I basketball for two years at a good level," Kennedy said of Jones. "He's our interior toughness, one of our toughest guys on our team who everyday brings it."

House, a transfer from Houston who Kennedy didn't necessarily expect to be eligible this season. He's a perimeter scoring threat who can shoot over most defenders.

"Offensively, we're just starting to gain a little more consistency because, as strange as it may sound and it's really a simple system, it wasn't built to have House on the floor primarily as much," Kennedy said. "He's a different kind of player."

FINAL ANALYSIS

Unless the Aggies come out flat at home, this looks like a team that has too much firepower for Mizzou.

Aggies have made a habit of 2nd-half comebacks, prompting Kennedy to praise team's resolve: http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/article/A-M-rallies-past-Missouri-with-2nd-half-surge-6031707.php ... via @HoustonChron

QuoteA&M coach Billy Kennedy sighed in relief again Wednesday night, following a third consecutive erasing of a halftime deficit by the Aggies over a Southeastern Conference foe.

"The character and toughness and maturity of our team is greater than it was last year by leaps and bounds," Kennedy said.

In second halves, at least, prompting Kennedy to proclaim, "You have to be a 'both half' team to win at this level."

However, ratcheting up the action for the final 20 minutes was enough against one of the league's worst teams. The Aggies beat Missouri 62-50 before 6,849 at Reed Arena and have won three straight SEC contests for only the second time in their three seasons in the league.

"We knew we couldn't let this one slip away from us," said junior forward Jalen Jones...
