This is an updated view of where Arkansas stands with the scholarship crunch. Zac Snider has transferred, which has brought the total number, as of today, to 87. The magic number is 85. Keep in mind that this list includes  every one of the 26 incomers of the class of 2006. We don't want to name any names, and I certainly won't answer any questions regarding who may not make it, so please try not to speculate. We know that probably one, maybe more, will not make the grades, NCAA Clearinghouse, another  transfer may occur, etc.

NOTE:
– This list has each newcomer in the position he is projected to play at, as of today.
– Some non-scholarship players are included, and are labeled out to the side if they are not on scholarship

13 WR's on scholarship make the difference.

How are Mortenson, stoltz  and R. Johnson both non schollies?

SupaCrawf

What, no scholarship kickers???? I never knew ;)
I'm kind of a big deal.

D. West

Mort is paying his own way.
Stoltz hasn't been on scholly one day since he's been here, and Rashaad Johnson walked on last year.

Thanks for info. D.West.   What is opinion of offensive line?  Looks like we have decent numbers; just hope freshman can develop to help replace this years seniors.

Someone set me straight here...Dee Williams qualified academically to attend the U of A? Thought he was going the JUCO route ???

He won't make it.

Am I the only one that finds it interesting that Norman is the fastest of the WR recruits? Atleast based on Rivals he is...

You got 86, Thornton is gone as of last week.

D. West

Thornton attended class on Wednesday. He is still enrolled in school and will be until after this semester is over.
Until then, there are 87.

To answer the offensive line question:
Coach Markuson says this will be his best yet. Take that for what it's worth, but that's from the man.

Yeah, but when does the number have to be 85? Fall? If so, it shouldn't a problem. I imagine by then, a couple more will be gone and some walkons will get at least a semester scholly.

D. West

The number will be met. This is just an update on where we're at. If I'm guessing, we'll hit 85 before the month of June is over.

SultanofSwine

bythelake, rivals list him at 4.46/40 and all of the other wr's were 4.5 or 4.6.

D West, what is your thoughts on Broderick Green?  Do you think he is as good as USC thinks he is?

D. West

The guy has to be very talented to get Carroll's attention this early in the process. I'd love to have him on the Hill, that's for sure.

norman says he can outrun williams in track but somehow on the football field williams is faster.

he doesn't understand it and neither do i.
