8:13 update

Smith and his mother arrived in Fayetteville Wednesday afternoon and will leave early in the morning.

Running backs coach Joel Thomas discovered Smith in North Carolina while recruiting the Tar Heel State back in the spring before Smith moved to Georgia. He and defensive line coach Rory Segrest have doubled teamed him during the recruiting process. Smith has spoken well of both.

He excels in the classroom and has 3.8 grade point average. He's leaning towards majoring in business.

Thinking we get a few more pretty quick?

Have to ask the staff. Heck, we never know what they are doing but they keep pulling rabbits out of their hats in both coaching and recruiting. I think they know what they are doing. I'm keeping the faith. Who would have thought, when he was hired, that Robb Smith would be valued as he is today? I have to believe that they have a similar handle on recruits.

And both from North Carolina. Hmmmm.
First of all, I didn't start it...
Second of all, they were all still alive when I walked out

Was he at the Catfish Hole tonight?

I think the big night for that is Saturday.  A friend invited me so I'm going up.  Looking forward to checking this out since it sounds like quite the production,

Sure.  Rory and Thomas did a great job.

Let's be honest.  This one was mostly Thomas.

I'm being honest.  I've read way more about Rory visiting him than Thomas.

Now, if Thomas has been visiting a lot and it just wasn't written about, then that could explain it.   But in most of the updates that RD posts, it's been Rory visiting.

He's Thomas' recruit.  He was recruiting him when the kid lived in North Carolina two years ago, and stayed on him when he moved to Georgia.  Sure, Rory's been working on him too as his position coach, but he's a JT recruit that came from a JT connection.

I mean, thanks for the connection JT.  Good work.

Let's not take credit away from Rory, either.  He's put a LOT of time in on this one.

No doubt.  They've both been on him pretty hard according to RD:

I guess it's been about a year though, not two.

they were suppose to have a catfish hole recruiting night last night also.  Was to start around 4.  I think they wanted to get if over so they could get him to the BB game.  There is also one Saturday Night

I don't get to excited about any of them until they sign their name. Didn't he commit to Vandy about a week ago?
Swinging on the two and the four.
