November comes early for Aggies with glum loss to Mississippi State http://www.chron.com/sports/aggies/article/November-comes-early-for-Aggies-with-12314681.php ... via @houstonchron

QuoteA&M didn't bother waiting until November to let down its fans this time around.

Mississippi State clobbered the Aggies 35-14 on Saturday night at Kyle Field, in dredging up all of the cyclical concerns about coach Kevin Sumlin's dawdling teams as the season winds down.

Sumlin had to answer questions all offseason about the Aggies' November swoons of the past few seasons, and that dramatic dip had a late-October start this season. The Aggies play host to No. 19 Auburn at 11 a.m. Saturday, and there likely will be even more empty seats than against Mississippi State, with the south end zone surprisingly empty in much of its top deck even early on Saturday night.

By early in the fourth quarter, many of the fans on hand joined those who didn't show in the first place. A&M freshman quarterback Kellen Mond (8 of 26 for 56 yards with two interceptions) easily had his worst game as a starter, prompting calls from fans for backup Nick Starkel, who won the starting job in August but broke his ankle in the opener at UCLA.
