Why develop in practice when you can play more minutes by dropping down a level or two and transfer to a higher level when you show something (and get paid for it...). 2

Personally I want guys that aren't of competition. In the portal age, you save nothing, because you whole roster could be gone next season. No team is immune from foul trouble or injuries. Do you really want a game to come down to a walk-on? No offense to them, some very good players, but facts are facts. All this talk of 10 or 11 is nonsense. FYI, Cal had 12 scholarship players last year and one of those was Joey Hart, who many considered to be walk-on quality. He played just 10 minutes on the season, barely out pacing a couple of walk-ons. So I absolutely believe Cal when he says he isn't filling all of his scholarships. I wish he would get creative and sell someone like a Tucker Anderson on possibly redshirting this season and jumping into the rotation next season, but that ship appears to have sailed. I agree it is best to have scholarship-caliber players on the bench at all times, but it does seem as though the elite coaches are going away from this. 7

I'm sure Davis an Adiou got a handsome amount but doubt the others were close to million dollar players.
