On the Inside College Football show this morning, they talked about all of the new college football coaching hires.  Andre Ware declared that the Chad Morris hire by Arkansas was the BEST hire overall.  He cited his ability to identify talent, recruit talent, being an offensive guru, knowing the Texas high schools and coaches, being able to recruit Florida as the keys.  He said it wasn't close...that Chad is easily the best hire overall.

All valid points except the last one. When have we ever developed talent out of the Keys in Florida? Being from there, that part of the state produces no football talent. Too much boozing and smoking there, Randy,

Yep, this is why it was so nuts all of those on the Norvell bad wagon.

I think it's a great fit.  No sure how much success he will have, but he checks all the boxes to try to see what the potential of the program is in the conference.  I'll be watching the recruiting closely.  Having lived in Texas for a few years one thing was clear about Texans.  They love their state.  Many never dream of leaving it.  Is the opportunity to play at the UofA under CCM enough of a pull to overcome that?  We'll see.  The guys that we would really want to land to boost recruiting will most assuredly have offers to play at schools in their home state.  Something to watch going forward.

I don't think he meant the Florida Keys... but talking about keys to being able to be successful.

No one goes off on more tangents than Walton.  Once he starts talking about the greatness of the Pac 12 he'll go on for at least the rest of the half.  The play by play guy trying to get him to move on, maybe even talk about the game they are doing, is hopeless.

I was thinking the same thing. Cant count how many times here on HV there have been threads and comments about how dumb Andre Ware is and how he knows nothing. But in keeping with HV, he says something that people like and he is suddenly the best analyst in college football.

History has shown us that Hogvillians have often said Andre Ware was clueless when talking about the Razorbacks. Now he says we have the best hire in college football and they automatically change their stance and see him as a modern day Einstein.

What Hogville can like from that article is Wares opinion about Morris.  Wares thoughts and knowledge for anything Arkansas still hold true but we'll allow that his respect for Morris is possibly spot on.

Andre Ware covers college football closely and knows Texas HS football very well.  I think it's a feather in our cap for him to give such a big thumbs up to UA's hire of Morris.

Time will tell. but i think he's right. he was one of my top 3 or 4 choices for this job.Arkansas with the right coach can be Clemson.the last 2 years of CBP proved that.

Are you kidding?  The Florida Keys has an overabundance of tight ends and wide receivers.  The talent pool is deep.

i dont really care what Andre said, but i am very interested in seeing this experiment play out.  I mean for years, maybe even decades the hog fan base has clamored about  recruiting texas we gotta recruit more in texas etc. etc. but never have we actually had a head coach that is deeply accepted and revered in the state of Texas as we do now.  Just like it was time for Gus to chit or get off the pot in regards to Arkansas football, if Chad Morris cant recruit texas kids to arkansas and win with them then IMHO no one can and we should move on to something else, somewhere else.

Pig in the Pokey

Norvell would have been a great hire. Just because Morris turned out to be , what appears by all accounts to be, the better hire doesnt mean Norvell wouldnt have been a good one.  Y'all sour this morning or something? Was it that game last night? What a finish! #instantclassic
