Mallett has thrown a TD pass in the 2nd Half, problem is the refs are calling some bubblehead calls against the Texans. Example giving the Panthers a first down when they were stopped a yard short and calling the Texans defense offsides near the endzone when they were drown off, allowing Carolina to score 17-10 Carolina.

Mallett had a rough 2nd quarter - the entire Texans offense did.
Look much better the 2nd half.

Yep, if the texan receivers can hold on to the ball it will be a good day, they are obviously not used to having a bullet pass hit them. Right now its not looking good in the 4th qtr.

Who dropped that first down?  That was pathetic

Hogfly

Mallett not looking good. Passes have been sporadic all day.

That INT may have cost him the starting job.

5HOG5

How the texans can get back in it quick!

5HOG5

Yep, not looking at the defense before throwing the ball is a killer. INT written all over it!

This might be the last chance for Mallett to tie up the game!

5HOG5

Holy crap the Defender held on the to the Texan receiver on the very left side of screen and no call of course

Hard count?

FaytownHog

mallett was getting sacked and tried to throw the ball away but they ruled it intentional grounding. 12 seconds left. 3rd down. This is it.

Not good for Mallet these last few plays.  He has been pressured a little but passes have been off too.  Don't know what he was thinking on the grounding with a timeout left.  Too bad his knee had not hit the ground.

Hard count?
probably. they ran a play but guy was in the neutral zone.

FaytownHog

They're looking at how much time should be on the clock. Looks like either way there will be 2 plays left to try and get it in the end zone.

5HOG5

Should be around 16 seconds left after ball hit the ground

PonderinHog

CBS game crew just roasted him, except for Cowher.

FaytownHog

5 yard pass to get out of bounds to get a little closer for the last play

5HOG5

Mallett threw it to hard, game over!

FaytownHog

Threw to the back of the end zone but was a little overthrown. WR caught it out of bounds. Texans lose.

FaytownHog

Dang. Well, maybe Mallett did enough in the second half to earn another start at least. Tough on the road against a pretty good Carolina team and having no o-line and your best rb out on injury.

hoglady

Well - Mallett came up short but after that horrendous 2nd quarter was proud of his play in the 2nd half.
Threw that last pass too hard and behind his receiver.
He competed well and came up short.
Texans very limited today with a hodge podge Oline and not much of a running game.
Anyone who thinks Hoyer could have done any better hasn't watched much of Hoyer.
He would have collapsed and given up under that pressure.

Yeah hopefully Mallett will get another start, he did make a comeback and made the game interesting.

Mallett's a gamer.
He competes and he gave them a chance in this game.
I've seen the Houston defense have better games.
This was a team loss.
Mallett threw a horrible pick - but he also came back and marched them down the field to keep them in the game.
A reasonable person can see the potential.
