Quote from: Johnnie5 on Yesterday at 12:16:41 pmI think getting pryor and van lubin is more likley than pryor and hawkins. Van Allen lubin can bang I beleive. 6'8 230+ I think

Pryor to me is more of an underweight 4/5. Coleman Hawkins is a 6'10" 3/4.  With both you will need a big body as we have only one. Hawkins is more versatile on the perimeter imo.

Quote from: Scott7703 on Yesterday at 10:35:21 pmThey are both much better players than most everything left on our roster. I don't need rankings to see that, just my eyes. We don't have 2-3 total sec level players left on the roster. Outside of Lawrence about every ounce of talent has left.

And she got minimal development. He was too enamored with others for some reason and their lack of effort and execution much of the season.

Quote from: 3kgthog on Today at 06:41:11 amI don't know why any coach worth a darn would want to deal with this crap these days. Saban was smart to get out now.

It isn't an issue with most teams 99.9% of the time since this started 3 years ago the teams with big turn over are teams with new head coaches that are flipping the roster.

Many coaches around the country have embraced it and have learned to use it to make the team better.

The only thing we know for certain is that regular season performance is not a particularly good predictor of postseason results.

If you have an exciting brand and system to sell and have shown the value of collectives to your fanbase, it is a golden era of coaching.

A lot of them have embraced this and you'll see some non-traditional top 12 teams in the playoffs this year because of it.

So at this point, the walking wounded are:

Dietz, Hachman, Fisher and Hyneman?

Am I missing someone?

Quote from: NostraHOGus on Today at 12:06:08 amdonnie, for somebody who knows so much about the game, you sure do lay a rotten egg from time to time. Gafford went from Eldorado to a draft pick, and he was NEVER a prolific scorer outside 10 feet, and he never will be. His specialties are rim protection, rim running, and he sets a mean pick. He can also make good passes to cutting players. His 71% career free throw average is what makes him effective offensively on the interior (aside from the slams).

Gafford was ALWAYS destined to be as good as some of the best players around him.

Right. And Mike rarely used him as a roller where he could have started to develop his passing abilities out of the short roll to a shooter on a team that had Mason Jones and I. Joe. His stock literally got worse coming back. Don't know what else to tell you.

Quote from: Kevin McPherson on May 03, 2024, 09:58:23 amI'm told he's chillin' on the west coast for now, and that he's not sure if he'll coach somewhere next season or not. He thought he was getting the Fresno State gig, but that did not work out so one of his backup options is to take the next year off by choice.
Coach Smart must be snake-bit because I always looked upon him as an associate head coach. He needs a shot at developing his own program. If John "we all could use a good bleed every now and then" Pelphrey can be a head coach at a major D1 power surely Smart could land himself a spot.
