How 'bout them Cowboys?
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

That's being average--  heck, they'd be in the Western Conference playoffs if they started tomorrow.

I should know better than mention current playoff chances to Cowboys fans--  that's a topic that's a bit too much for them to grasp.

Since they're obssessed with irrelevant history, here's a good one-- the Timberwolves have made the playoffs the same number of times in the last 20 years that the Cowboys have.

And half the nba makes the playoffs.

When's the last time Minnesota won their division?  Pretty sure Dallas won theirs last year.

11 years ago--  a bit like Cowboy playoff success, its hazy.

And 12 of the 32 NFL teams -- so a meager 38.5% of teams make the playoffs each year.

Says a ton about the state of the Cowboys, though, that their fans struggle to find an even semi-favorable comp in another sport.

This year, pretty terrible. But recent years, not too bad. Giants have two rings to show for it in the last 7 years. Not too bad.
