The Miami-Ft.Lauderdale-W.PalmBeach area does indeed produce some major basketball talent but only recently (the past 3-4 yrs) has the school been able to keep them away from the ACC/SEC powerhouses.   South Florida is a amazing place to reside, its like having spring break all year and it has nothing to do with drugs or money (That would be the old football regime of the late 80's early 90's).  You would be surprised at how many people down here are shocked to hear I was born and raised in Arkansas.

that's prolly b/c he has to sit out a year at MIA. he is a hurricane now by all accounts i have read.

You will see this more and more with the rule requiring only one year of school.  Some of these guys who might have gone on to the NBA anyway are now looking for a nice place to play other than a tradition rich program.

considering the century is only 7 years old, i guess you could say that about a lot of great programs.
