Interesting how PG was the only poll that had us ranked earlier in the year (and they stuck with us for a long time) and now they are the only ones that are not mentioning us.

Every poll has LSU #1 and A&M #2.

Pretty sure I saw this morning that PG had us on one of the last ones considered.

You're right, thanks. That means that EVERY poll has us either ranked, receiving votes or considered.

#51 to #48 is a nice little jump without playing a game. Missouri State beating Missouri probably had something to do with it.

3 big south teams are in the top 40 of the rpi. maybe we should move to that league.

After Friday's win over MSU, the Hogs RPI improved to #44 and SOS is now #12.

. . . to #42 through Saturday's results.  Significantly, our SOS has zoomed up to #8.  And next week, we play Alabama, who is RPI #49 BUT their SOS is #6.  This is important, as RPI is one fourth your record, one half YOUR SOS, and one fourth YOUR OPPONENT's SOS.  MSU's RPI is only #112, but we continue to move up by beating them because their SOS is a healthy #35.

If we can just keep winning . . . good things will happen.

As of Saturday night at 9:30pm, having finished our weekend games, our RPI is #34 and SOS is #12.

As of Monday morning, 5/4/15 our RPI is #37 and SOS is #18. We lost 3 spots and didn't play a game.

For the week, we went on the road to #48 Bama, played 3 games and swept them and we improved 11 spots.

1+ for once again maintaining this thread.  You are such a valued and appreciated resource for the rest of us.  Number 20 doesn't sound like an off based projection now does it?

Depending on how well they play there is weakness above us all the way up to #11 Arizona State.  I am not saying that we have a chance to climb that high, I am saying that we could pass about half of those.  I think a top 15 ranking is possible by end of the regular season.

Thanks flip, but it's not just my thread, someone else can update it and probably will need to for the rest of today.

I can combine them into to one post and add links at the end of the day if that helps.

Not trying to poach on A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S's turf, but here's some more new polls:

So, now that we've had nearly a full season to play with it, do you guys still agree that having 1 thread dedicated to rankings and RPI is the way to go?

Why would you want more ? Everything in one thread works great IMHO.

Works for me, I may not check it weekly, but it's easy to scroll through the progressive weeks.

We used to have it all in one thread. I was handed it for a few seasons before I passed it off. It was all tabled and gridded and everything. I personally would love it to be back all in one thread.

Cal State Fullerton moves up 3 spots to #18 with a 31-22 record....

I would like to hear the CB pollsters' reasoning for those moves...

Probably - or maybe had to make room for Radford to move up after sweeping the powerhouses of Charleston Southern and UNC Asheville....and to that end...

How in the #^&#@ is Radford's RPI at 14? Look at their competition - the only team they've played worth their salt was Auburn and they got swept...

/soapbox

Correction: As of today Radford's RPI stands at 18

take a look at how many road wins they have. (17) that road calculation sucks

39 wins, 24 of them teams 100 or higher

It is a joke....We sweep Bama - Bama beats Ole Miss today (RPI 26) - and we DROP two spots to 39....

IMHO, the RPI is more corrupted than the BCS ever thought of being...

i have tried to tell people this.

you cannot make a formula to even the playing field.

all these low to mid major programs with high rpi's, that will host, will not make it to omaha

Omaha - h**l most won't make it out of their own Regional...
I have noticed, since our last time to host, how our scheduling every year has been pretty static...about the same mix of top 100 rpi and sub 100 rpi...our away games have fluctuated a bit, mostly in an effort to boost our rpi (to no avail)....and yet, in the years before, we routinely had an rpi in the top 30 - even top 10 at times...now, with much the same scheduling, we can't seem to crack the top 32, mostly floating in the low 40s by the end of the year....I guess at some point between then and now the formulation method for the rpi changed, and now we're suffering from it. This tells me that unless we radically change our scheduling year over year, the odds of hosting will be very low unless we circulate at the top of the SEC and manage a Super hosting caliber record - it used to be that SEC schools would host with 36 or more wins...now that number has risen to 40 or more wins.

there isnt anything wrong with dvh's scheduling formula-it varies some depending on where the team is at in a given year (a little weaker when he figures to have a lot of young players like this year).  He isnt ignorant of needing to comport to rpi some, but, he also understands that you have to build a program and the team each year to the end of (a) do well in the conference (b) peaking toward the end of the schedule and hopefully being a hot team (c) making the the ncaa tournament (d) going deep in it.

He has done is as well or better than most.

That is why it is just win, baby
You cannot lose to Memphis, semo,  Gonzaga .

Look at Lsu's schedule played in Houston tournament, then never left the state of Louisiana

Long needs to let the baseball team play the in state schools

Iowa is in the top 25 rpi, with a sos in the 170's
