I have no idea what you guys are talking about.  Vol fans complain about how much he criticizes Tennessee.  He has been HARSH on Butch Jones.  He is certainly no homer.

Don't be bringing relevant info into a good  'Clay Travis R STOOOPID' thread.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Doubtful he reads Hogville.

Woohoo

Please continue pontificating from your high horse. It's quite amusing. Clay Travis is an egotistical troll. He deserves to be mocked publicly for his general douchebaggary. He would never pull a punch if he thought he could land one on this fanbase. So I'm not sure why you're sticking up for him.

BPsTheMan

I don't think he's a Vol fan

sickboy

Clay Travis is a Vandy guy.

lumphog

I thought he was a Rainbow Warrior........not that there's anything wrong with that

Dionysos25

He's a vol fan. He wrote a book about them.

From the description of his book on Amazon:

"In On Rocky Top, Travis, a lifelong Volunteer fan, reports on the season from the sideline and inside the locker room, creating a fascinating and loving chronicle of an impassioned state, a celebrated football culture, a beloved coach, and the sensational collapse of a once-mighty juggernaut."

Yeah ; in some of his books he talks about his family being Vol fans - pretty hardcore fans. I believe he had the least amount of fanaticism for the Vols but when your family loves them with everything they have naturally you are going to; even if it's just a little.

Its been a long year and a half; they have even less success to show for their coaching change than we do, and you see how fast people have bailed on BB.    I think Travis first called for his firing last season.

Guess I'm missing something, who is Clay Travis?
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own.

And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

Because Jones has been killing it in recruiting.

Travis is a troll and doesn't hide that fact.  But he calls a spade a spade.  That's why most fan bases (Tennessee included) get all riled up about him.  He praised Jones when he looked to be building something, but he has been Jones' most vocal critic this year.

Despite his trolling, I kinda like reading Travis because he has a fresh perspective and nuanced views.  But SEC fans don't really understand nuance.
