It looked like Pel was wanting to find a fight club there.  Wow!

Good start tonight, just need to keep some momentum going.

I think he just called his wife and told her to cancel the UHaul rental.

Way to pull it out.  Washington we're going to need you against Baylor and Texas.  So don't foul out.

Great win.  This team played with fire tonight.

Stat of the night:  Defensive Rebounds

Arkansas 35            Missouri St. 20

Gotta do this.

The real stat of the night is the vent thread didn't hit 2 pages during the game.

Sorry. You're right though.

The rebuilding project progresses.

It's a long season, and there's a lot more to be done on the road to respectability.   Tonight was extremely important, and the fortitude and determination shown by a  young team that could have quit at a half dozen other junctures will pay dividends down the road.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I dont blame him.  he's been through hell these last month or so.  and he knows we survived.   that was the look of a man who knows that Fortson is coming off suspension next game

Great win on a night when arguably our best player, Washington, was very very bad and hardly even contributed.

Great game.

I'll honestly be shocked if CMA ever goes above .500 in conference play as coach here.

i'm as excited as any homer on here, but missouri state?  we shouldn't hope we win the game

His outburst was embarassing..glad we won but wow we have stooped so low..

Glad to see Pel's excitment and Rotnei was great. Also the team was fighting for this game. Our point gaurd play was not good tonight, if Fortson comes back it will help this team. Get a Ratliffe signature to replace Washington next year and there may be hope.

jman

Good win by the hogs....thought pel was gonna bust Mizzou states coaches and players in the nuts on those punching hand shakes

Thanks HOGS for an early Christmas present. Another win. May we see and enjoy more in the coming days. Go HOGS and GO HOG FANS!

All is ok  now in the world of sports. A pretty good Missouri State team is put in their place by a Razorback team with their backs to the wall. In one of the worst eras in modern Razorback basketball, Missouri State still can't beat us. Reminds me of last year's Tulsa game in football.

Not just rebounding...but defense.  We held them to under 32% shooting.  That's night and day better than when we were giving up everything offensively when we were playing Morgan St., South Alabama, and company.

Nice win Hogs.  Pig Soooooooooooie!!!

Rotnei Clarke is the guy, but what made the guys play their hearts out, and keep trying was the Razorback crowd support.

That loud cheering does inspire our guys.

This Arkansas-Missouri State game is turning into quite a rivalery.

Its not embarrassing.  Our coach goes totally ape shine.  So what?
Houston did that here for 10 years in football.  I never felt embarrassed for him.  We won the game tonite, acting a certain way after the game don't make a damn bit of difference.  The game is over.  He gave Misery State lots of credit after the game on the radio.

Pel...yeah. I guess we can look past the outburst, but a simple fist pump would've been fine. I'm proud of the guys, though. It feels good to be wrong about a game.

I attribute part of that to poor shot selection by MSU, as much as any improvement on the defensive end.   I'm not quite tickled by tonight's performance, but there are a number of limited positives to take away from it, without making it bigger or smaller than it was.

One more chip off of the great big rock of rebuilding.  Let's hope we see some cracks develop in it, when we take on the likes of Texas.

I'm thinking a 6 seed and solid recruiting class now after this win? My buddy goes to Missouri St. called him up yelling and congratulating him on a game well played and slammed the phone down as I hung up. Nothing wrong with a little enthusiasm baby!

The players and Pel both showed fire tonight.  Loved it.  Clarke is clutch.

good win tonight. this team fought hard tonight. like or dislike pel, can we at least put to bed that the players have quit on him? have seen several posts in the past suggesting the team has quit on him and are possiby losing on purpose. they played their hearts out tonight. still a ton of areas to improve on but they haven't quit.

At 7-5 we are now assured a Liberty Bowl bid.

If we go we'll take Mallet as our inbound passer and just chunk the ball to Wash at the other end of the court every possession.

Here are my observations:
- Pel seems to be getting in a groove with substitutions. Nice job of keeping guys rotating in and out without sensing much of a dropoff. There is an art to good substitution patterns, and he's getting closer. Tonight was good.
- This group plays like a team; they actually seem to like each other.
- We were physical tonight. I'm not saying it's like the glory days; not Corey Beck & Clint McDaniel yet, but this team is becoming scrappier and fisty-er with each new game. Glen Bryant has some fire in him and could be a difference maker.
- Bryant and Powell are young freshman. Farmer is adjusting to a higher level of play. These three (and hopefully Nobles who has dropped back a little bit) are improving every game and are going to keep getting better.

LRMedHawg

Good win tonight.  The team played hard.  Wish we wouldn't give that layup at the buzzer for OT but we responded well.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.
