Florida's Jalen Tabor, C'yontai Lewis suspended from team, season opener

Florida coach announced Wednesday that All-American cornerback Jalen Tabor and tight end C'yontai Lewis will not play in the season opener on Sept. 3 against UMass.

"Both C'yontai and Jalen will not be involved with the team or practice due to behavior that is not acceptable," McElwain said. "By no means are these bad guys and yet consequences have been handed down. We will not look the other way when it comes to breaking of team policies.

"I want to echo what I said earlier, these are both fine young men who will learn and be stronger from their actions. They will also be suspended for the first game. There are life lessons in everything we do. We will be better because of it and no one person is bigger than the Florida Gators."

This is the second suspension for Tabor, who missed last year's Tennessee game for reportedly refusing to take a drug test. Tabor went on to have a breakout season...

Kentucky announced Friday that defensive tackle Regie Meant is no longer on the team

Meant, from Cape Coral, Florida, was a three-star prospect as a member of the class of 2013. He appeared in 10 games with four starts last season as a sophomore, totaling 31 tackles and 1.5 sacks. In 2014, he had 18 tackles in 11 games.

One of Auburn's highest-rated offensive recruits from the class of 2016 has left the program without ever playing a snap.

On Saturday night, following Auburn's 51-14 win over Arkansas State, head coach Gus Malzahn confirmed true freshman tight end Landon Rice is no longer with the program.

Rice was a 4-star prospect out of high school and was rated as the No. 8 tight end in the country. 6-foot-5 freshman from Calhoun, Ga., enrolled with the program in January. He did not play in last week's opener against No. 2 Clemson, and he wasn't on the sidelines Saturday.

Stoops announced two season-ending injuries. Sophomore LB Kobie Walker and junior LB De'Niro Laster won't return for the Wildcats this year.

Walker suffered a shoulder injury and Laster suffered a left knee injury. Both players will require surgery.

In Laster and Walker's absence, the Wildcats have gotten better at linebacker.

... That would've meant an ejection for that game only after the second one with 24 seconds left. No consequences for the NC Game.

At the time, the final unsportsmanlike call was announced on No. 98, backup punter Brannon Satterfield. Allen wears No. 93.
