Golf. I prefer to be able to predict where my ball will end up  ;D

Quote from: Hogo Piglitz on Today at 10:55:58 amMight want to get your eyes checked. One program is on sold footing and trending up. One is not and recruits see this and is the reason why SMU is filling their rosters with P4 players and Arkansas is filling thiers with G5 players. It's sad to see honestly.

I don't care what people think or believe from me I'm just a poster on a message board. But don't pee on us and tell us its raining. What I do care about is what is in black and white because facts are greater than your feelings.

You are certainly a poster on a message board.

SEC Sports / Re: SEC QB Controversy Thermom...

O'Gara: It's a bit strange — — there are so few QB battles in the SEC in 2024

QuoteEveryone likes to say that competition is good.

It seems fairly easy to predict who'll take the first snap for each SEC team to start 2024:

Alabama — Milroe
Arkansas — Taylen Green
Auburn — Payton Thorne
Florida — Graham Mertz
Georgia — Beck
Kentucky — Brock Vandagriff
LSU — Garrett Nussmeier
State — Blake Shapen
Mizzou — Brady Cook
Oklahoma — Jackson Arnold
Ole Miss — Jaxson Dart
South Carolina — LaNorris Sellers
Tennessee — Nico Iamaleava
Texas — Quinn Ewers
A&M — Conner Weigman
Vanderbilt — Diego Pavia

Any pushback on that list from the non-Nate Johnson crowd? If I set the over/under at 15 correct picks, would you take the "under?"

That's the byproduct of SEC quarterback play looking better than ever. Five returning starters led their teams to either a New Year's 6 or a Playoff berth in 2023 (Beck, Milroe, Ewers, Dart and Cook).

Mertz and Weigman were both QB1 when healthy last year while Arnold, Nussmeier and Iamaleava got the bowl game start as decorated quarterbacks-in-waiting after their starters (opted-out).

Quote from: ricepig on Today at 08:55:22 amBut is Danny in great shape, lol?

I was surprised how he looked. He is probably 6-2, not 6-3, but he wasn't fat. He was a mountain. I think he is in pretty good shape. Heard he had lost about 30 pounds while at BYU.

Quote from: onebadrubi on Today at 06:35:08 amIf we get to 21 wins we are back in the discussion for number 1 overall seed in my opinion.

20 keeps us very comfortable top 8 seed.  18 or less and we are seriously sweating top 8, not factoring any SECT

Agreed but barring a total meltdown we should be above 18 wins by the end of the Miss State series.

Quote from: bennyl08 on Today at 10:37:57 amSome good stuff there, thank you, I do see the difference now. I see an SMU team that has significantly downgraded in talent and a hog team that has made upgrades.

I see an SMU team that even with last year's roster would have struggled to beat bad power teams that is now going to be asked to play them on a regular, consistent basis with an even worse roster.

I see an OL player who wasn't working playing against the big boys who wanted to go play at an easier difficulty level.

It's a good thing I know you don't believe any of the things you post because otherwise, it'd be very sad.

Might want to get your eyes checked. One program is on sold footing and trending up. One is not and recruits see this and is the reason why SMU is filling their rosters with P4 players and Arkansas is filling thiers with G5 players. It's sad to see honestly.

In 99% of scenarios, you save Hagen for game 2. The first two games are equally important.

Not really sure why we're discussing this now anyway, but I guess we're bored without midweek games
