Our coaching staff automatically assumed when the defensive line dominated the offensive line in preseason camp that our defensive line must be very good, based on the projections of our offensive line elite. Our offensive was overrated last year. Apparently no one on our staff stopped to consider that, for whatever reason, our offensive line is not elite. For a program like Beliema wants, to be mediocre on both the offensive and defensive lines means we are mediocre period. Our defense is a problem. 3rd down defense has been horrendous all year. As bad as people said Tech's defense was coming into the game, they were not the worst defense on the field Saturday.
For whatever reason, our team has not gotten better since the Texas game. Tech has improved, as has most in the SEC. TO Beliema's credit, both his teams here got better as the year went on. Can this team get better? Will it even matter?
