When does Coach Pel get some input in the scheduling????

How far in advance are the schedules set?? I wanna know when Pel gets to set his own schedule.  I am tired of only playing 1 or 2 'real' away games before conference.  When a team has a major problem like ours has for the past 3 or 4 years, you would think they would try and fix that problem.
