In each case, the new product might have had downsides compared to the previous product, but offered a net benefit in functionality and day-to-day usefulness. Not all "new" products offer that.

For anyone hoping to see Nate gone after this season, he was asked today how we have had such consistent success the past 7 years. His answer went into depth about it being due to maintaining his coaches, that they have great camaraderie, that they hang out together outside baseball, families are friends

Didn't sound like someone mulling a coaching change or even remotely being dissatisfied with any of his assistant's performance

Most the times, yep. If you got someone like this outshining what you got around you, the other stars aren't much.

Let's hope it's like Chris Weinke who was 25 after playing MLB then went to FSU. Usually these odd ones shine if they have talent around them.

The portal era means this will happen often

If a team has 4 or 5 returning starters in today's world, they might win a a lot

Cal is going to find out fast if he still has the fire to make a machine out of the many parts

Muss roster was not top tier either. Many of our portal additions were not considered as highly sought after as we were led to believe. We missed on a lot of guys and Nelson was the last effort to put it together. Even then it was far from a complete team.

Believe it or not, there are families out there that will pay a hefty price tag to get their kids on a scholarship to a top tier hoops program. Sign 2-3 of those and you have $150-$200k to put towards the program.
