Tom Green reached out to NOLA.com reporter Jim Kleinpeter to get an inside look at LSU.

Does Leonard Fournette have an encore performance in him after last year's Herculean effort against Auburn?

Kleinpeter: I can't see Auburn letting that happen again and I've got to believe they are fired up for a chance to to shut him down. Fournette isn't off to the start he had last year and the Mississippi State defense was trying to rough him up throughout the game.

No. 18 LSU -- let's don't get too carried away here -- has found a solution at the quarterback position as it visits Auburn Saturday.

Purdue transfer Danny Etling has replaced Brandon Harris and all of a sudden the offense doesn't look so shaky. So far so good with the passing game that complements running back Leonard Fournette.

Just when Gus Malzahn and Co. need desperately to end a six-game SEC home losing streak. And in those six games, the Tigers have averaged  scoring under 20 points. Yes, at home.

Officials missed a false start call on LSU on the last attempted play. That false start would've required a 10-second runoff and ended the game. That call was missed.

Plain and simple, the Tigers ran out of time. And they officials aren't the ones to blame.

Still, it was a heck of a play for LSU at the end.  It's a shame for the kids that it didn't count, but alas, there is the problem with Les Miles.  LSU is more effective just running a play drawn up in the dirt because of their incredible talent than they are when Les and his staff call the plays.
