Mike Anderson's 2014 recruiting class now has THREE 4-stars committed:

6'0" PG Anton Beard

6'4" SG Nick Babb

6'9" C  Trey Thompson

Then add in 6'7" SF/PF transfer Keaton Miles from West Virginia. This class is looking good! Now we can be more picky on our last scholarship in this class. Wanna make sure we have plenty left for the loaded 2015 and 2016 classes.

Class is looking great.  And it's not like CMA is just trying to grab the best player no matter what, he's actually filling needs.

We are losing 4 guards this year, and 2 of them play significant time at the shooting guard spot.  Babb is going to be a guy that's going to be able to come in and play immediately and be able to give us another shooter on the floor.  And the best part about him, is he's a great defender as well.  Very good pickup.

I'm glad you posted this. I had forgotten about Keaton Miles, he's eligible in '14-15?

It really feels like things are coming together for the program!

Will Anton Beard be at NLR this year or staying at Parkview?

Breems

I had completely forgotten about Miles. Lookin' good in the '13-'14 neighborhood.

NLR.  I understand there is a legal hurdle his Dad is being made to jump over in order to have his son stay with him in NLR.  All due to a certain disgruntled AAU "coach".

Miles also was a touted 4 Star coming out of high school.

Wow. I didn't realize that the class was shaping out so well. Go CMA!

Yeah, glad we're "settling," as HawgAdenoid would say.

I go by Rivals for all rankings.

I don't follow recruiting as closely as some, but I know this past cycle Arkansas coaches threw themselves unsuccessfully at multiple guys (Jones, Seagears, others) down the stretch so obviously there are some holes needing to be filled. My only hope is these recruits are the type that will help us compete nationally and not only in the SEC. We need Bobby Portis type impact players to go along with a good group of role players Anderson has assembled.

What are yalls opinions about signing 4 in every class and making kids transfer when there are better options coming out of high school?  I personally don't have a problem over signing each year and letting the chips fall.

Well that surely looks like what MA is signing.

I am for whatever gets us back to the final four.......

However I don't really see us continuing to do that in the future. I would prefer not.

Dave Telep is the best evaluator.

Especially when his evaluations are favorable for the players committed to your team.

I think you could set your goals there and possibly never even run into an issue.  With the natural attrition, injuries, and 1 and done, I think you would possibly not even run into an issue.
