Per the Jonesboro Sun today.

Other than some issues with its location relative to the airport, probably the last hurdle to clear before to starting construction  of the Redwolf Regional Convention Center,  to be located where the old track & field was just off Redwolf Boulevard.

The Jonesboro Advertising and Promotion Commission had previously supported a different hotel and convention center to be located off  Interstate 555, but that project was halted after the developer failed to pay contractors according to the Sun article.

The article also notes that under the plan approved by the A&P, Tim O'Reilly, of O'Rielly Hospitality Management of Springfield Mo., will receive no money--had previously requested $300,000 marketing contribution  from the commission, but will receive almost all the proceeds from the hotel taxes collected for the first 10 years, up to 2.5 million.

The competition to build the Regional Convention Center has been a very contentious process, that everyone involved will probably like it to be behind them.
