Our lack of hitting is coaching because we've been bad all year with guys who were better at their previous schools

Quote from: Knot2brite on Today at 03:01:03 pmHow many returning position players did we have this year that played significant time last year? 6-7? I can't remember

More like two, unless you count McLaughlin, assuming you mean current starters

Stovall 1-0, 2-0, grounds to the pitcher to end the inning.

After 3, still 6-0 MSU

Serious question here.  It appears they are squaring things like TCU did last year when it appeared likely they were stealing signs or we were tipping pitches. Do we still use the walkie talkie, hand signals or what?  Of course it doesn't help that our pitchers are getting squeezed by the umps.

Quote from: Flatline on Today at 02:55:33 pmThat is something the coaching staff can address but that obviously is not occurring. I don't get down on the staff often but DVH saw this problem last week yet he made no changes.

When they have you figured out you change the play book. Do the opposite of what you have been doing. Hell everyone knows what the pitchers to the hitters are going to do so freaking change it.

This one is on the coaching staff not the players.
When things like this happen, I really wonder if DVH is destined to be Mike Martin 2.0.  Everybody loved and respected Martin. He took many many teams to Omaha. Never won it. Can't say a bad word about him but he just didn't win it. There had to be a reason. Just like there is a reason for this.

How can a team that has recruited the way we have fall apart like this? I know a lot of DVH's signees went to MLB but what was left was highly ranked, right?

Quote from: bennyl08 on Yesterday at 07:38:48 pmWhy is the second the most important? A 5'3 115 pound computer geek could have the want to and willingness to be part of this TEAM. But they aren't going to succeed at any position, much less DT.

Sure, maybe you assume they can in general play DT at a power conference level in the first place, but if that part is so incredibly important that is an absolute given, well... then maybe it's the most important.
A 5-3-115 lb geek would not succeed in any system so would never be considered.
Talent is very important.
BUT anyone who is not willing to put the team first should never be considered no matter how much talent he has.
Football is a team sport.
Last year is a prime example of what happens when there are good players but they were not a team.

Ok. I've muted SECN and turned on the radio stream.  I feel better already, synchronized or not
