Scuba dive and smoke cigars. That's what I was told to do. Won't be there til April next year though.

No personal experience but I did have a co-worker that went and loved it: the diving, the food, the people and the fact that it was much more affordable than most other destinations in that area.

I just did a cruise stop in Roatan.  I was very impressed.  I had barely even heard of it but we did a full day on the beach and loved it.  It was not nearly as commercial as so many other places.  The people were nice with English being their first language.  And the snorkeling was absolutely fantastic.  The reef was literally fifty yards off the beach where we were.  It was awesome.  I spent several hours checking out the thousands and thousands of fish that were right there.  Twenty dollars for lobster dinner with a beer.  And so on and so forth.  In my short time it seemed like a great place.
