If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

More of the the Trooper Taylor effect on A-State recruiting.

While the public has focused on this player, and  Dee Liner, who came over from Alabama, the fact is A-State has been adding a number of quality  players on the sly since Anderson & Company took over, with little or no publicity, and many are good to go this year.

Transfers like LB Austin Copeland (West Virginia), LB/S Sterling Wright (Kentucky), DB Steven Montgomery (Indiana), DL Robert Mondie (UAB), and DE Chase Robinson (Auburn) should  all contribute this year.

They have also quietly added some quality players since signing one of the top G5 classes this past February. Guys like OL Jamal Fontenot, WR Chauncey Mason, WR Chris Murray,  and DB Jai Knight , all have the talent  to contribute from the start.

A-State was expected to be much better this year regardless because they return most of their players from last year, and added some of the best talent signed by a G5. The addition of these other players just improves the chance they will in fact be better, and all but guaranties that they will be the most talented team on the field in 10 of their 12 regular season games, which is normally a very good thing.
