I've been trying to use "The Google" to find an article or list. Anyone know where I could find that info?

Partial (and VERY unofficial) list (please correct or add if I'm wrong)
CJ O'Grady  TE
Jalen Merrick OL
Jamario Bell  SDE
LaMichael Pettway ATH
Deon Stewart WR
Blake Johnson P
Willie Sykes CB
Nate Dalton CB
Daytreon Dean  DT
TJ Smith SDE
Derrick Graham LB
Will Gragg TE
Austin Cantrell TE
Colton Jackson OL
Ty Storey QB

That is just from the 2015 signing class and doesn't include Medical/Injury redshirts
I could be wrong on a couple or missed some.

Go Hogs!

This thread is a good idea, and I've wondered about it too.

I could use the players' positions as well, since I've forgotten many of them.

This looks close to me other Sykes.  I'm pretty sure he played on special teams.

I just added the positions they were recruited for to my list.  Pretty sure that a few are wrong but it's a starting point.  We'll also get Hatcher back next year.

Correct Sykes played special teams all year.

Oddly, Last man in, maybe lowest rated out of the class and contributed almost if not the most outside Reed and Greenlaw.

Add Walkons:
FB Damani Carter
OT Klint Harvey
OG Cooper Sone
TE Howie Stettmeier
QB Ricky Town
LB Tyler Phillips

There are a few others as well. I'll check a roster and add later.

I wonder where Pettway ends up. To see him, Bell and Graham in the lineup on defense next year would be nice. Would be the type of long rangy safety LSU always seems to have. I know some speculated that we promised him a shot at receiver, if so, I am sure we will give him that shot, but we need an influx of talent on the defense.

scorekeeper

Redshirts and walkons the backbone of the program.
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

I've heard TJ Smith has turned into an absolute freak during his redshirt year. A name that probably flys under most people's radar.

You're right, Ricky has a scholarship.  He just came to mind when I was think of those that didn't sign in the Spring. My bad.

We could have a very dominate defense this year if the back 4/5 can cover. DL is STACKED. Starting LBs are experienced but the backups are a little young. I'm looking for big things from them.

Beat me to it. Pretty sure his was medical. Knee injury IIRC.

Nice list hope many can start this fall.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Anyone know how Dalton is progressing? I remember being really excited about getting him last year.

6'3" 197lb. I could see him turning into a good free safety.

Wonder if they are still looking at him as a SDE or if he is moving inside.

This is an amazing redshirt program. There are 6-8 four star players in there depending on what service you look at.

PorkRinds

I'm hoping we can have RWIII running again this year so we can redshirt one of the backs we get.  If we get Whaley, Hammonds, and Porter we will need to redshirt someone.  I'm thinking Porter is a good candidate, because he seems to be one that won't have that "I want to play now no matter what" mindset.  Seems level headed enough to realize how beneficial a redshirt year would be for him.

Good topic and thanks for the info.

Impressive to have 14 of 25 signees redshirt, if those are all freshmen.  Thats going to be great in 3 years.  Good work

Thank you. Well done. You know, we may need to borrow a page from Gary Patterson's book...turning quarterbacks and receivers into solid DBs. You can never have enough of them.

What do you mean turned into? Watch his tape, then Agims, then back to his and he was the most exciting DL prospect last year IMO. However, those athletic freaks are often raw and not "controlled" in terms of playing, i.e. minding gaps, keeping contain, etc... They want to just beat the OL player every snap and it leads to them exploding right past the play which talented OL guys will use to their advantage. You see that with young Trey Flowers in college games as well.

This is an example of the type of talent CBB is recruiting.  He was a last minute offer and flipped from Nebraska without even visiting.  Our recruiting has improving substantially under CBB.  Unfortunately so has most of the sec west

I was thinking the same thing.  Would like to see some more explosive athletes on defense.
