I wish I knew who would be the best fit for us here but I don't and I am not going to pretend like I do. I know that I like Venables the most because I'm a defense first type of guy. That's not saying that an offensive head coach wouldn't put emphasis on Defense more than the Offense but I just like a fired up defensive type of guy. Having that fire that is visual is what I want the most in a coach. The great ones all seem to have a few meltdowns on the sidelines per season when their team is up by 40 and a back up misses an assignment or is not lined up correctly. That's what made BP so great to me. It's why I like Saban so much more than most of the other coaches. Muschamp may be, I do mean may be, a little too over the top but you still have to love his fire. I haven't seen any games of Memphis, SMU or FAU but I have seen Clemson. I like what I see there and as someone else pointed out on one of the threads last week, he stays in one place for a long time.

I think he is too but I think we've been relegated to an up-and-comer now. The only thing that excited many about the CBB hire was 3 Rose Bowls. I know I wasn't too high on him at first and had to "google" him to find out more. Seemed like a decent hire but after the CBP days, we expected a lot. Unfortunately, I don't think we can get that anymore. I would prefer Norvell over Morris but who knows?

Nolan did ok as a Razorback after being at Tulsa and the JUCO ranks (yeah...yeah...Bball is different....blah blah blah.)

For our situation we need people in charge that can identify potential.

There is some truth to this. You have to wonder if taking the SMU job may have impeded his career. Unless he ups his win total again next year his record will be a hindrance to him moving up in the coaching world. If he stays at SMU one more year and pulls off a 10 win season he will be the hottest name in the up and comers category.

I think we all knew that this would get ugly and the fans would split.  Thanks, Gus.  The media and a few ex-players are pushing Morris because of his impressive 🙄 record at SMU.  I don't doubt that he is a fine person and good coach but he is being credited with digging SMU out of their grave when that is not entirely true.   June Jones record was 36-43 with a 3-1 bowl record, and four winning seasons and he resigned two games into his 7th season.   

I don't get a vote and I get more information on Twitter and by media people in Tennessee that I do anywhere in Arkansas.  It is apparent what is happening here regardless of the respective records and head to head results.   I'm ticked unless, of course, really bad stuff came out of the vetting process.   The program that I love can't afford a mistake.

Bo was supposed to be the DD. He got slobbered. Latourette had to drive them home and got popped...got his DWI and suspended and we missed a FG to win the game against Miss St....ending our chance at a rematch against Tenner...
