funny excerpt from the Dallas Morning News today at the expense of A&M....

"And the Sooners would be wise to consider the examples of Nebraska and Texas A&M.

Since leaving the Big 12 in a huff, the Cornhuskers have finished better than third in their Big Ten division exactly once in six seasons. A&M hasn't come nearly so close in the SEC. In the five seasons since R. Bowen Loftin made what he called "the 100-year decision," then left town before the ink was dry, the Aggies have tied for fifth, tied for seventh, tied for ninth and finished eighth twice." (for all you Arkansas antagonists, Arkansas was SEC West champion in 1995, 2002, & 2006... Hogs first SEC West championship came in year 3 after joining SEC...)

A$M probably couldn't care less.  Any conference sans Texass is a good place to be.

I bet A&M is making more money now than they did in the little 12. Also, getting better recruits.
However, it is true Sumlin has underperformed, but we can't really say a lot until we can actually beat them on the field.

They just know what an Oklahoma departure (most likely with another member) from the Big 12 means to that conference. So naturally, they are saying, wait a minute, better think this over. Problem is, Oklahoma would probably do better in the SEC than A&M has to date. Better coach who used to coach in the SEC.

Did they mention Missouri's success in the SEC? Of course not. Just fear tactics because they know that the Big 12 either has to expand to stay together for stability or someone is going to leave and OU has been making those noises for a time now, and they won't leave by themselves which takes the Big 12 down to 8 teams and assured mutual destruction.

Pretty hilarious.

Sumlin  won't be here much longer. The Aggies with the money are polishing their sabers.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

1 more than we have in the sec.

^

And this 'writer' is claiming they made a mistake by leaving the Big 12. They weren't exactly tearing that conference up either.

HiggiePiggy

Nope. They didn't make a mistake.  Arkansas on the other hand was hurt because of them moving into the SEC. We are a mediocre program and already had to deal with being pretty much last or second to last in recruiting in the west. Now Texas A&M is another school who out recruits us every year and right now has also beaten us every year they have been in the sec.  Texas A&M is not Alabama, but they sure do feel like it when we play them because we can't beat them no matter how bad they play.

I didn't exactly pay attention to Aggie before they came over to the SEC but hasn't their recruiting picked up a bit since? Of course, they did switch coaches
