Anyone see it?...since yesterday it's been running on the SEC Network.

Tess, Herbie, Galloway and the lovely Laura Rutledge were on hand. Saban was in a suit. A lot of folks in the stadium, as you'd expect, but what else do they have to do?...just leave the meth on 'simmer' and drive to Tuscaloosa.

The most interesting thing was their new freshman QB—Tua Tagovailoa—he's already on campus. He's from Hawaii and was the #2 dual-threat quarterback in the country. Evidently, he was all up in Southern Cal's business until he took his visit to Alabama. Sounds like he fell in love with Nick and that 'southern thing.' He's a stout kid, a physical specimen, like all Bama backs are. He can move and throw a little bit.

It looks like Bama's new offensive coordinator(s) are wanting to stress the passing game this Spring. Guess they figure that Hurts breaking contain and running for 50 yards won't win them 12+ games. Hurts looked okay, nothing special. I wonder, if he throws a couple picks in the opener vs Florida State, will the toothless crazies start yelling for Tagovailoa? He's their next new toy. But there's no way in hell anyone there will be able to say his name.

QuoteScarblog: It was interesting enough to hear Nick Saban go off on a rant earlier in spring practice at the mere mention of the words "ball control." It was much more entertaining to watch Saban turn Alabama's spring game into a 7-on-7 competition.

Alabama defensive backs haven't been torched like that in Bryant-Denny Stadium since Nick Marshall lit them up for 456 passing yards in a losing effort in the 2014 Iron Bowl.

Brian Daboll isn't trying to turn Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa into Tom Brady Jr. Circumstances dictated pigs would fly Saturday, and fly they did.

Think about it. Alabama's most proven running backs spent the day watching from the sidelines or, in the case of Hurts, wearing a black jersey and playing two-hand touch when he tried to duck and dash. The passing game needed the most work, and the defense was limited in its blitz packages and coverages.

Put it all together, and you had Hurts throwing for 301 yards and Tagovailoa for 313. It was further evidence that stats can be deceiving and that spring-game stats are the worst liars.

Tagovailoa looked like a high school senior forcing passes into ill-advised places that would get you beat Sept. 2 in Mercedes-Benz.
