Even though Benintendi got some time in The Show last season, he is technically still a rookie, since he had less than the number of at bats to remove that status.  Obviously, this year (barring injury) will be his first full season in the Majors.  Was musing on this the other day and came up with the following numbers for his first season.

Batting Average:  .279
Home Runs:          13
RBI:                    82
SB:                     13

In the longer term, I see AB as a guy who will consistently hit between .280 and .320, knock 15-20 HR a year, and drive in 80 - 100 RBI, depending on where they place him in the order.  He'll also steal a few bases, but he won't be asked to swipe a lot.

Just posting this here so I can check at the end of the season and see how close I got.

He has a great first half and is traded to stlouis at the deadline for Matt Adams , Kolton Wong and a player to be named later .... Hey a guy can dream

Who would wish that on anyone?

I like Benny.  Keep him as far away from the worst people in baseball as possible.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I agree Erie.  While we are playing the fun game here is my prediction for the season.

Batting Avg:  .297
HR:  11
RBI: 85
2B:  32
3B:  4
SB  13
W:  97
The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.

He's ripping the cover off the ball right now so I'm going with Rookie of the year:
Batting Average:  .307
Home Runs:          15
RBI:                    91
SB:                     18
