These are all teams I consider to be on the NCAAT bubble....Obviously you can look this stuff up but it's much more fun if you just look at the resume.

6 teams below are either barely in or just on the outside. If you're picking teams....Put these teams in order of who should be in.

Ole Miss is 22-14. They have an RPI of 38. SOS is 21. 6-11 against top 50. Best win x1 over #7 Worst loss to #219

Florida Atlantic is 24-10. They have an RPI of 63. SOS is 131. 2-2-1 against top 50. Best win x1 over #32. Worst loss to #225

La tech is 23-13. They have an RPI of 42. SOS is 60. 2-5 against top 50. Best win x1 @#16. Worst loss @#182.

Georgia Tech is 16-18. They have an RPI OF 60. SOS is 8. 6-10 vs top 50. Best win is x1 over #3, #5, @#10. Worst loss x1 to # 265.

Missouri is 26-11. They have an RPI of 53. SOS is 85. 3-7 vs top 50. Best win x1 #7, #18, #15. . Worst loss is #152

North Carolina State  is 20-17. They have an RPI of 37. SOS is 11. 5-8 vs top 50. Best win X2 against #35, x1 against #3, #5, #10. Worst loss #238.

That's tough and I find keep contradicting myself as I sort them out.  However, I have a hard time putting any team in with a sub .500 record so Team D would be the last of this bunch to get in.

My first team in would be Team F.  Nice RPI and SOS with multiple wins against good teams and a winning percentage against top 50.

Team A would be a close second for the same reasons above.  My guess is the bulk of their wins against top 50 are closer to 50th-ranked teams.

Teams B, C, and E are essentially the same to me. I guess I'd put Team E in next, followed by Team C, then Team B.  Team B's SOS is ugly and they really don't have a signature win.  Also, you could easily talk me into letting Team D in before Team B.

TLDR version:
NC state
Ole Miss
Missouri
La tech
Florida Atlantic
Georgia tech

I assume team E s San Diego state...beating Long Beach, a bad Norte dame and ucla in a mid week is not overly impressive...but they are liable to win the mountain west

Teams revealed.....Does it change your opinion?

You guys like NC State and Missouri, neither of which are included in the field. Ole Miss and Florida Atlantic are likey in at this point.

No, doesn't change my opinion because the numbers and records speak for themselves.  However, I think it does help reinforce the idea that many teams are going to get the benefit of the doubt regardless of what happens just because they are perceived to be a good team.

Perhaps the committee should use blind resume's when selecting the field.

Help me, SPAL (or jry04 et al.).  How is Florida Atlantic likely to be in the tournament field at this point?

As you summarized up top, they're 24-10-1 with an RPI of 64 and SoS of 132.   They're 2-2-1 against the RPI top 50.  Their best win is a single victory over the #23 team, and their worst loss is to the #225 team.

Is the at-large field simply weaker than usual this year, as it was in basketball?
