Could be...  But where would the other $2,999,847.12 come from?
You must have forgotten... The SEC just signed a 1.2 BILLION deal with ESPN.. Starting next year so they will be able to afford it....Do your homework
A new era has begun in Fayetteville

that'd be great if he took gus with him

Without Gus... Graham will be nothing special.  His defense is pretty much a joke and only Gus's offense slapping 30 points + a game either outscored or demoralized the opponent's offense.

Like Wilson says, Mississippi State is just a rung above Vanderbilt. In my opinion, Graham would be a solid hire for that program.

I just don't see that job attracting anyone but coordinators and up-and-comers. They can dream all they want to, but Chris Peterson isn't leaving Boise to go to Starkvegas.

Yup, Boise St. is a better gig then Ms St.  Winter Wonderland, great city, great mid-major program, have been dominant on every level they've been at.

vs.

Starkvegas...

Maybe they could attract New Mexico State's coach.

Let me explain how this works...  If I have four really good meals in a row, I am thankful for that and I do not withhold my thanks for fear that the next meal might suck.

Why would ANY decent coach with any sort of a possible future go to cowbell hell?

Last post in the Tavern here.  See you guys.  Have fun.

We're hearing Derek Dooley is #1 on the list.

Tuberville was also mentioned but he has no interest.
When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you.

Trottsky

Jackie Sherrill!!

(I wish. I hear Dooley's getting most looks.)

For what it's worth, the interim coach at State is Rocky Felker, who was Bulldogs head coach many years ago, coached at Arkansas, Alabama and T-Tech for a time, but he also was head coach at Tulsa. Maybe there's a link, but I think that Dooley fellow's still got the inside track.

also, why does ms. state think they are gonna fork over 3M for a coach. what are they gonna do take out a mortgage on their football stadium and all buildings on campus?

No kidding.  That dude fodive with Jesus turning water into wine is way off the mark about SEC salaries.  He's got Nutt up there among Meyer, Miles and Saban and doesn't know where Petrino is.

DeltaBoy

I still see the Dooly kid coming form La Tech.

It may just be coach speak, he still has a couple of games left.....But he had a presser yesterday and said he hadn't spoken with anyone and he and his family were very happy in Ruston and did not want to move

Heard Broyles might be interested so he could be closer to his adopted family.  Speaking of Graham at Tulsa.  Here is what he has now.  Tulsa has won the West 3 of the past 4 years and so far gone 1 and 1 for the conference title, also gone 2 and 1 in bowls, I think.  The recent upgrades in their stadium took the seating down to 30,000.  As of this AM, Tulsa has sold around 12,000 tickets for the Saturday morning 11 AM championship game for the conference title.  Tulsa doesn't support sports teams very well.  I could see the entire Tulsa coaching staff leaving enmass for a better job.  Graham is hell bent to win to the point of driving his assistants very hard.  Like young recruits, most of them will appreciate him for that one day.  Look for Graham to move up very soon and take his coaches with him if they desire to go.

Dwight_K_Shrute

I hope MSU doesn't screw this up and hires a good coach.  I want the best coach possible at MSU.  A good MSU does not hurt us much if any.  Even Jackie Sherrill's best teams had a hard time beating us.  We won't lose many if any recruits to them, but another school definitely would.  Bringing up the bottom of the SEC only makes the conference better.  If they get a HC in there that consistently beats their sister school, they will have fans for life across the river.

The hardest part about coaching at MSU is going to be sustainability.  A coach may get on a good 4 year roll there but will eventually have one or two down years before revving back up again.

Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.

Miss State needs to Hire quickly.  Think their looking for a offensive HC. With all the changes of HC a lot great assistant coaches our available right now.

I was hoping someone would catch that.  Never hurts to go green.

I can't believe anyone with a bright future would want to live or work in Starkville.  With apologies to Lou, it's not the end of the world, but you can sure see it from there.  Therefore, I say they should just give the job to Rockey Felker and wish him well.  He will do great as long as they can give him a little more cowbell.

This is only Graham's 2nd season at Tulsa.  Kragthorpe was the head coach at Tulsa until he left to replace Petrino at Louisville.
