Petrino has already offered this kid for 2009. (Russell Shepard)
I just saw some game film and he looks incredible.
ESPN was just saying that this kid is going to be in the top 10 next year in recruiting.

Anyone have anymore info on this kid???

I don't, but that list of interested schools is pretty impressive.

You'll love it in Arkansas Russell!!

But I like it that Petrino goes after him anyways!

Amen to that. You can't sign them if you don't even try.

Man it just feels good to be a Hog today!!!

With Petrino having a year to work on him, nothing would suprise me.
BE AFRAID!!  Be very, very afraid!  The Hogs are hungry and you look a lot like lunch!

trphog

I have no inside knowledge, but I have heard that he has a huge desire to follow in Vince Young's footsteps.

You have got to go after the best of the best and hope for 1 or 2 to stick.  This one however might be like having a 30K a year job and stoping by to test drive a Rolls Royce.

No more Feast or Famine at key positions..

Coach P is going to Stack 'em up and have our depthchart loaded 3 and 4 deep with Division I quality.

2009 class is being started now.
Petrino was behind the 8-Ball this class, but ended up with a great class.
We'll get deeper in Texas, Georgia, and Louisiana next year.

You also have to look at the recruiting of this staff.  It's NOT local.
They keep the in-state kids, but go everywhere for recruits (not just Texas).

RazorBassin

I am so glad to see a staff so diverse in the recruiting area.  The thought of bringing in talent from other states is a win in itself.  The rise of the Razorback Nation has begun!

Unless he grows, he's not as big as I'd like for a QB. I know Scout lists him at 6'2, but I read he measured closer to 6'1 at the JR day I think it was in Houston.
Also, according to the Rivals stats, he hasn't managed to complete 50 pct of his passes in his SOPH or JR year -- maybe he just had terrible receivers. But the video I saw, I wasn't impressed with his passing.
Not saying he won't be an outstanding college FB player, I just wonder if it will actually be at QB.
I'm also wondering if the hype isn't more about the Longhorns' hope to find the next Vince Young.

Don't forget about Florida.  BP has had success there as well.

Yeah, I don't remember getting as many recruits from that many states... where did we go, TX, GA, LA, TN, OH, and FL?  did I leave any out?

Oden is from Indianapolis.

At least Coach is not afraid to go after a highly ranked recruit! So refreshing!
