What jobs would Nutt consider leaving for?

If Nutt does decide to hit the road after collecting his annuity, as some have speculated, where do you think he might go?  Some of the e-mails from the Nutt Army/Posse indicated that he felt he was above certain jobs, such as NC State, but was open to places like Miami and Alabama.  Where do you think he would actually be willing to go?  And what places would be willing to hire him?
11/19/2023:  Keeping my original semi-prophetic, apocalyptic signature below.  We continue to regret passing on Norvell, who is in the running for the Playoffs.  We continue regret passing on Kiffin, who is eyeing a New Years 6 game.  Heck, we regret passing on Drinkwitz (he may be a dork, but he will have his team in a New Years 6 game after they truck us on Black Friday).

Meanwhile, Sam is drinking Pittman, wondering if he has the leverage to re-hire Enos, Sexton is doing the triple Lindy into his Olympic-size pool full of cash, and thousands of hog fans are planning to dress up as empty seats for next year's Halloween game.

11/25/2018:  My original "Chad Morris" signature is below.  I'm modifying my view as follows:  We will continue to regret passing on Norvell and Kiffin.   After 3 years, when Morris is 10-26, we are going to be saying "What were we thinking?  Even Bert was better than this!"

Iowa State or Baylor. Although, Baylor may not hire him since he's known for texting. On the other hand, Nutt is a Baptist.
I don't want you to agree with me because you're weak. I want you to agree with me because you know I'm right.

Nutt has no options that'll pay him anywhere near what's he making.  I say treat him like you would any other employee who's not getting it done and let him worry about it.

Don't even see a lateral move for NumbNutts, just a move down so I am afraid he will not leave without being forced out which means at least one more season.

10 plus wins this year (and a bowl to make 11) and he probably could go to about any open job he wants.  8 wins or less and a firing, and I would be thinking more along the lines of Iowa St.  9 or 10 wins and he's probably back at Arkansas in 2008.

I personally think he would be a great fit for the Aggies.  They love to run and would probably be an improvement over Fran.

I don't think he's employable at any top school right now no matter what the record. I think if he could have gotten out of here, he would have already.  My fear is he is the "just enough" guy like always...he wins just enough to keep his job and not enough to go anywhere else. I think we'll win 7-9 games and it won't be enough to fire him and nobody else wants him.  He only leaves when they make him leave imo unfortunately.

I have thought about the Aggie's too.  Talk about trading one over hyped, under achieving coach for another!

Following a good season you are employable at a ton of schools.  People often overlook the past if you look good in the present, just as much as they forget a good past if you are bad in the present.  If Nutt has a good season he could still stay in a BCS conference, just to a smaller program.

I know it's hard for us to imagine, but there are schools out there that hiring Nutt would be a big improvement.

Nutt is back at Arkansas if he wins 5-10+ games. He's played poker with the right people to keep him here.

Honestly, knowing what we know, what other school from a major conference would touch this guy? None of the plethora of schools that had openings last season contacted him. He wasn't even in Bama's top 15. Not even a bottom feeder like UNC gave him a call. Considering how great last season was according to the eternal optimists you'd think someone would've shown some interest.

Oregon made a hardcore attempt at John McDonnell a few years ago. aTm tried to steal DVH and successfully got Gary Blair. Nebraska might've tried to get HDN. We don't really know 100% for sure since they have always denied they offered. Other than that no one has made a serious play at our wonderful SEC COY and Easter Seals MOY. I wonder why no one is really interested.

If he beats the cupcakes and the MS schools, but loses to KY, TN, SC, & LSU, I think he is a goner.  Bama & AU should be wins, but it is the aforementioned games that scare me more.  KY is pass-happy against our man defense, TN & SC should be firing on all cylinders by the time they get us, and LSU is well...LSU.  Thow in a loss to either of the Alabama schools and you've got a losing conference record.  Suddenly we will have gone from the West Champs to sub .500 in conference play.

5-10 games? So you think he stays if we go 5-7? Is that what you're saying? LOL.

Oh wow... what a freakin' wonderful prank that would be for Pete Carroll to play on Mitch & Damian... I can hear the laughs and "gotchas!" already.

I'm thinking he could take over at Texarkana (AR) High.  He could keep on loving that same helmet pretty much, right?

Back-to-back 10 win season would open a lot of doors.  Not to power schools, but alot of midrange schools in the power conferences could be interested:

Iowa St
Oklahoma St
Syracuse
Arizona
Virginia

The last three are the right size and in the right state of peril, but I'm not sure either would hire HDN.

Of course Murray St has struggled ever since he left.  Maybe you can go home again?

Yes, but NONE of those schools recruit themselves (as Nutt supposedly said Bama did), so hiring the Nuttless wonder would be an effort in futility.

He's damaged goods and as such will have very limited options and I seriously believe he will accept the buyout offered him and go into "coaching" retirement.

And that's a good thing for the sport of college football in general and the UofA in particular, IMHO!

Nutt has already proven by looking at a lot of other job openings that he would consider leaving here for other schools.  A better question would be...what school would be dumb enough to consider hiring HDN?  There will be one, and I will laugh when they do it.

abraHAM_lincoln

Nutt will have to be forced out....but if he is, Paw-Paw will beg Jerry Jones to open up a position for him....so after pressure eventually nutt will be hired as Director of Custodial Staff for the new Stadium.

As much as some folks seem to hate him, I can understand the thinking (hoping) he has to go down several notches.
But realistically, he will most likely move up or at the very worst what might be considered a lateral move.
Another realism - no matter what, he is going to be making more money than 99.9% of the posters on here, me included.
