Stutgart's own Brett Helms is starting at center for the tigers.

Oliver

Have the Tigers scored yet?  I bet it won't be long before they do.

He's another one who broke through the fence.

Early 3rd and long conversions by LSU don't bode well for MSU at all; the penalty may have bailed them out for a play, but its not looking good for Croom and company.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Oliver

Well, Mississippi St. stopped LSU early on.  Now let's see just how bad their offense really is.

LSU stopped LSU.   If MSU's first drive is any measuring stick, this is going to be really ugly.

State will be playing harder this season bc they know Croom's arse is on the line.

LISTEN TO THOSE STUPID, STUPID COWBELLS

Hillbilly? I prefer Appalachian American

tophawg19

lsu lacks the great rb. this guy can't break open a game . he may wear down the defense but he is no game breaker

Well hopefully that will apply to our players as well.

tophawg19

msu should be  fined until they stop those bells . they have to go through metal detectors . maybe a 5 yd penalty every quarter.

They also lack a great coach.

If i was Miles i'd send the house everytime. And theres an INT.

Oliver

When I watch MSU play, it never ceases to amaze me why we struggle to beat them just about every year.

I never really understood why its such a big deal, yeah they are annoying and suck, but what kind of difference does it make, should schools with more people in the stands be fined? Just get your coaches to record some cowbells and practice with it, players learn to deal with it i'd hope.

Flynn threw two very accurate passes so far but he forced the one where MSU defender broke it up.  Still very impressive accuracy.

Flynn will be the determining factor on how far LSU can go this year.  I for one hope he struggles badly.

Oliver

This game will be out of reach as soon as LSU scores a touchdown.

NuttinItUp

Man, those cowbells are loud.

tophawg19

how can you allow cow bells but not air horns same difference

An airhorn is slightly more civilized and slightly less redneck.

Oliver

3-0 LSU.  And time for another 3 and out by MSU.

MSU is hanging tough. Eventually they'll realize they are MSU and get blown out.

MSU just ran the wildcat.

Great.  LSU can prepare for our offense during this game.

Hawg_Heaven

LSU hasn't been too good against the run in this game thus far.

There's a slight difference between McFadden and a 242 lb. guy who'd be 4th on our depth chart.

If DMac stays healthy, I think we surprise LSU this season.  I think we'll get surprised ourselves a couple of times before that, but I believe we can beat this team.

In terms of talent, yes you are right.  Nevertheless, the formations will be the same.

Hawg_Heaven

I am not impressed with LSU's offense either.

C'mon monsoon!

Its a shame Erin Andrews has an umbrella, and isn't wearing white.

Did anybody notice that they played the college promo for the university of mississippi instead of msu? What a slap in the face.

selfexplanatory

This rain might kill the -18.5 for LSU :(
This year's nominee for the Coopy award.

Err, now I know it's easy to bash Shiloh Christian, but I'm pretty there aren't that many high schools in Arkansas that have a player picked in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft.
Or have you forgotten where Damian Williams played school?

LSU will cover that spread.  How does LSU get a -18.5 spread and we get a -24 spread?  You should have taken the points on our game.

tophawg19

sorry play isn't helping lsu. they are way out of sync. that rb isn't sec caliber .
if you ain't a hawg you ain't chitlins

Does anybody think that Troy might be better than MSU?

gohogs13

Wow if MSU could get their offense going they could win this one. Their defense is playing well, either that or LSU is just playing horribly.  I tend to believe the latter part of that statement.

NEAHawgfan

MSU's passing game looks eerily familiar. :puke:

What passing game?  Oh, I gotcha.

tophawg19

lsu playing very vanilla. not really showing anything tonite . no speed in back field.
if you ain't a hawg you ain't chitlins

Oliver

Then again Matt Flynn is putting up Casey Dick type numbers so far.

VandyHog

LSU is having some first game sluggishness but the Mississippi State defense at least is fired up.  Interesting so far.

SmokedBacon

LSU is overrated and ive been saying that since the preseason polls came out, they lost to much in the draft and to graduation.

LSU will be gone from the polls when we meet em and we will make them wish they were fishing.

VandyHog

They are getting a ton of pressure on Flynn.  How many starters is LSU returning on the offensive line?

So did their running play on 3rd and long.  Dawg D is bringing it.  If their O can improve as the season goes on they will upset some teams.
Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.

That's like saying that if our passing game could be effective, we'd make a BCS bowl game.

BigDPiggie

I'll wait until half before I get too interested, but I didn't expect this to be close after the first quarter.
