Daiquiris Unlimited should still be in business in Shreveport/Bossier, Monroe, etc and then finding a drink in NOLA shouldn't be a problem.
A drink, as in singular?  Damn near impossible...

I go with the 190 Anti Freeze when I'm in the North Shore. Daiquiris & Creams also has 1 gallon containers available at their drive-thrus.

Yeah, that's the only ones I knew about. I had a buddy who owned a lumber mill down there and that was the first place he took us on a visit, lol.

Connie knew where they all had 2 for 1 for everyday.  Haynesville, Dixie Inn and everywhere in between.

There are plenty of places shortly after you cross the county line going to Shreveport.

The novelty is pretty cool, but I've never been impressed by the quality of the drinks.

True. I am pretty sure even the NOLA Baptist churches have a two drink minimum.

I think a goup used to meet at Dantanna's in "butthead". I'd say call Dantanna's to verify. Also check FB for an Arkansas Alumni Association Atlanta chapter (you may have already been down that path based on your post).

TCU game: Where is the best place to park?
« Reply #17270 on: September 05, 2016, 12:49:15 pm »

I drove around the TCU campus on my last trip to Fort Worth.  I noticed some nice residential neighborhoods just north of the football stadium.  Is this a good place to park if you get there early?

Is there a Hogville gathering of any sort taking place?  The TCU basketball arena has a nice museum and a food court area with lots of TV's that looks out over the football stadium. Looks like a good place to hang out and watch football while waiting in the pre game hours.

This will be my first time to tailgate at TCU campus. Anyone have any experience on what to expect or advice on how to improve my experience? (We will have our own tailgate, not looking for one to join, but will definitely walk around and mingle)

Lots of great places downtown, Southside, Magnolia St, or West 7th St. Let me know what places you're into and I can make suggestions.

If you are looking for a good area to hang out before going into the game, The bars at University and Berry St. are always a good spot. If you are not going into the game then the West 7th area will be a better bar spot to watch the games

Not an easy venue for parking.  I would recommend getting there very early.  I think I got there about two hours before kickoff for the Armed Forces Bowl in December and parking was still an issue.

I-30 TO FT. WORTH HEADS UP
« Reply #17279 on: September 06, 2016, 12:27:39 pm »

Just a heads up to Central Arkansas fans - was driving to Dallas yesterday from central Arkansas and there is about a 15 mile stretch of I-30 just east of Fulton that's experiencing significant road construction. If you are headed down for TCU or A&M in a few weeks, you'll probably want to add an extra 30 to 45 minutes to your plan if you are planning on dinner plans, etc in the DFW area Friday night. It's also pretty bad on the eastbound side as well, for your return trip. We sat in standstill traffic for 30+ minutes.

The downtown Dallas 30/35E mixmaster is also still a cluster. You'll still probably be better off going through it rather than diverting westbound on 635 but you might give your map app a look when you're getting close to Rockwall or so.

Hope everyone has a safe trip down!

We always hit the 635 Bypass when we go back and forth to Ark cause it just some much faster and easier for us to get home.

We are going to the game and will be tailgating with a TCU alum. Here is what he said re: parking:

"If you are driving to the game and parking we suggest parking across University (its a street, on the right of the map below) from the stadium. There are various lots on that side of campus and lots of street parking as well, just remember the earlier you arrive the better chance you have at getting a spot. TCU is very good about putting an officer in front of lots that you are not allowed to park in. Some lots have controlled access, the rule has always been 'if the arm is up, you are safe' just be smart about it. The walk across campus cannot be any longer than 10 minutes. I realize buildings are not labeled but around the Robert Carr Chapel and around Lowden Street there should be some spots to park. You also want to be on this side once the game is over, as traffic moves much faster over here.

I have been to a game at TCU. Not a bad seat in the house! I would suggest East of campus in the neighborhoods and walk across campus or south of the stadium towards the intramural and baseball fields. That is a big parking/tailgating area.

If you haven't been to Joe T's go out and sit in the gardens there prior to the game. It's a must do. Some other good spots are Dutch's Burgers (across from TCU), Buffalo Bros (also across from TCU), Yucatan Taco Stand, Reata (roof top), Bird Cafe, Flying Saucer, La Familia, Chimy's, etc. Hope this helps. Those are all spots I like.

Here is the official gameday parking website from TCU:

http://www.gofrogs.com/gameday/parking.html

If you are not planning on tailgating or have friends/family with a tailgating spot, then some of these park and rides at churches and Paschal High School are very convenient.

Paschall High School ($15) borders the far east part of campus while the stadium is on the far west part of campus.  It is probably a 20-25 minute walk through campus from the high school to the stadium.  You could also park here and take the shuttle to the stadium.

You can always look around the neighborhoods and park on the street.  I usually have pretty good luck near the baseball stadium/ track complex.  You can also try the neighborhoods south of berry and east/west of University.

Let me know if you have any questions.

TCU campus is super small... Parking anywhere on the East side of campus (S. University Dr.) will give you about a 10 minute walk at the max.

I could be over estimating walk times a bit. Paschall to the stadium is probably right about a mile.

I agree with you that our campus is very small, and if you can get a spot close to campus on the east side of university you should be fine.  Most of these streets fill up very early, and many of them have started restricting parking on gamedays with temporary no park signs.  It is definitely not as easy as it used to be to find free super convenient parking.

To your point, if people are looking for free parking, they can probably drive around campus for about 15 minutes to find a parking space with a reasonable walk.

I live in Fort Worth but this will also be my first. I have a couple of TCU groups I'm going to hang out with. Where do you plan on setting up? #WPS

I'll be in lot 4 with a group of my college buddies (will have TCU fans there as well). From what I hear, Lot 4 is the party lot. Should be interesting! Go Hogs!
