Getting mentioned on the board for possible replacements

Uh, because he coaches a boring offense?  He's an excellent coach who would do very well for lots of schools, but Gator nation wants someone more high-flyin, I believe.

If Petrino ever left, Tuberville would not be my first choice, but he's better than many.

Because he's not a realistic candidate.

Steve Spurrier will go back to Florida.

I've never understood why so many people are enamored of Tuberville's coaching abilities. Looking at his career as a whole, it seems to me he is a solid coach at best. His record is as follows:
Ole Miss
1995 6-5
1996 5-6
1997 8-4
1998 6-5
1999 5-6
2000 9-4 won the west
2001 7-5
2002 9-4
2003 8-5
2004 13-0 won sec
2005 9-3
2006 11-2
2007 9-4
2008 5-7
The man has only TWO 10 win seasons in 14 years of coaching. True, he won the sec in 2004, but the only other year he won the west was in 2000 (when the west was arguably the worst it has been this decade (the other records in the west were Alabama, 3-8, arkansas 6-6, LSU 8-4, ole miss 7-5 miss st. 8-4). In fact, in 10 years at auburn, Tuberville's career was remarkably similar to Houston Nutt's career at Arkansas. Both had 2 losing seasons. both had alot of 7-9 win seasons, both played in the SECCG twice. The only difference is Tuberville's ONE great season (this gave Tuberville a single SEC championship and two 10 win seasons, instead of the one 10 win season Nutt had). One season does not a career make. Looking at Tuberville's whole career at Auburn, it seems to me that mediocre to solid (7 to 9 wins) was the rule and that one perfect season the anomaly. Just my take.

Man that would be like owning a porsche and blowing the motor and slapping a pinto motor in it. Tommy t to florida would be the most hilarious move ever made.
