This is sad. I remember this well. I was always a big Olympics watcher...especially the Winter Olympics.

Johnson was a great story...a California dude who became a star in Sarajevo. Then a tragic end.

Sad news - I can remember watching when he won that Gold Medal.
Great moment in US Olympic history.
I'm an Olympics watcher, too. Always look forward to them.

PP - yes he had a crash in 2001 resulting in a traumatic brain injury.

Kudos to the judge who gave him a second chance as a teenager and sent him to ski school instead of jail. Bet he was proud when Johnson won that gold medal.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.
